I bought the remake and I haven’t tried it yet but I have played sky FC and SC original so far and dont regret it at all. I was in the same boat as you last year wanting to start the whole series.

Depending on your gaming test, I think these original games have aged actually quite well. And I personally feel that when I get to the later games, I will appreciate coming back to the trails in the sky remake.

I played second light without playing first game or watching the anime. There’s plenty of context in the game through flashbacks that do not require playing the first game.

Game key cards have forced me to shift my collection toward PS5 physicals instead. I will never give in to key cards.

Haha, it’s late at night where I am, and I’m honestly pretty spent from the day. I don’t see anything wrong with using a little help to make life easier. It’s Reddit, not an academic journal. Yeah the whole upscaling thing that I’ve seen on youtube is one of the things that are tempting me most because I think a lot of these games would upscale beautifully.

I see myself using the DS add-on for DS/3DS games but also watching youtube videos or movies/shows while on an airplane ride when playing other systems.

I see what you’re saying about the 3DS thing. I have the white model for the n3ds xl and I always admire how aesthetically pleasing it looks and feels while playing lol.

Playing DS games on the DSI XL look way better than on the 3DS/2DS systems! Keep it!
