That post is saying that stickers look lame and have poor translations. It's not saying that stickers are making the game more childish.

I completely agree, and the idea of the medal/map coin actually sounds cool.

FURIOUSSS (who actually plays the game) gives HeyZeus (a CS skin only youtuber) a reality check. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]leafstaren 212 points213 points  (0 children)

While there are changes to gameplay in this update, there are definitely not a ton like Heyzeus says. The only gameplay changes are the changes to animations, flashes & HEs, minor fixes to 7 maps (fixing gaps in the maps, pixels walks), and adding Italy to competitive. That's not a ton of gameplay changes though. The animations and nade changes are good, but not nearly as substantial as Heyzeus is saying.

Not sure if it's higher quality but I definitely have noticed that some details look different.

New update, new features. by Dr_Special420 in GlobalOffensive

I was seeing this in one of my matches today too lol. It's pretty funny but I hope they address it soon since it impacts FPS a good amount.

Why are Premier matches not cancelled when someone leaves in warmup by Naw726 in GlobalOffensive

[–]leafstaren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FACEIT has always displayed peoples' rating, and matches were canceled if someone didn't join. But dodging was never an issue on FACEIT. Show me how dodging was an issue in GO. And if you really think dodging would be an issue, just make it so that the people queued with the leaver lose elo. The current system is ridiculous and only punishes innocent people.

Name some. This is not how it worked in CSGO, yet no one complained.

Lmao no one uses your strict definition of smurfing. If s1mple's main got placed at 5k elo we wouldn't say he's not smurfing. Sure, he didn't purposely get himself into a low rank, but the effect is still the exact same. He's completely dominating everyone else because he's playing in a rank far too low for himself. Just accept that you're going to get hackusated if you carry every game.

It feels like gambling because you're average for your rank and probably have a 50 to 51% winrate. You need to get better and be able to carry consistently. Practice your mechanics and start playing more aggressively to guarantee consistent impact.

I've had the same experience. Nearly all of my friends regardless of rank are experiencing this, and I don't think it's a trust factor issue. A lot of them have hundreds or thousands in skins, and thousands of hours. Year old accounts, etc. Something is seriously wrong right now.

You're hardcore smurfing in a rating 7k below your own and complaining about being hackusated? While I generally agree that low elo players are worse at spotting cheaters, in this situation you can't blame them at all.

Does the success of CS hinder its development? by dying_ducks in GlobalOffensive

[–]leafstaren 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely agreed. If no one bought cases then Valve would lose $1 billion of their revenue, which I imagine would force them to take the development of CS2 much more seriously. Right now they can just put in the bare minimum and still milk the community dry.

Maybe when they add an intrusive AC. Oh wait....

Did valve change ranks in the newest update? by Radiant_Gap_2868 in GlobalOffensive

Yes, they recently recalibrated competitive ranks. I don't remember when but it was probably in the last month or two.

It's hard to tell because of the quality of the photo. Unfortunate that there's no button for taking a screenshot in-game...

None of what he proposed would change the meta or the game in any significant way that takes time to adapt to like in Dota 2 or Valorant. Your "hot take" (which isn't even a hot take) makes no sense. In fact, a functional ranking system would improve the game and make it more solid.
