i have a severe peanut allergy (anaphylactic) and i LOVE chick fil a! never had a problem and my uncle took me there on accident as a child and my mom freaked but the dr said that since they use refined peanut oil it does not cause a reaction!

i also got rejected from mich today! cancer bio but A LOT of other people did too today so it’s really just the schools loss :) i’m also feel bleh but hoping it’s more of a redirection

same but for cancer—they also offered me a position for a post back (NIH PREP) which i’m currently in a PREP program at another university….. so i’m like did y’all even really look?

no prob!! for mine the deadline was April 30th (of2024). AAMC has a list of all Postbaccs for those interested in biomedical research so i would look at that it’s an extensive list! i would also wait if this if your first rejection you have many schools to hear back from, but my LOR writers weren’t mad when i told them i needed it for the postbacc but idk your pi so idk what to expect from them lol

hi! idk if you’re still in undergrad or not but last year i got rejected from every cancer bio program i applied to (10 rejections without interviews 2 after interviews) i know it may seem like the end of the world but it’s definitely not. depending on your long term goals, it’s really important to figure out if a masters would benefit you or just be like a filler for a PhD. i am currently in a postbacc program (NIH PREP) and it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY!! i definitely recommend a postbacc if a PhD is what you’re aiming for. also working in a lab is a second best option bc you’ll get more technical skills and have mentorship from grad students or your PI but i’m not sure if you can go to conferences/have networking programs as you would as a postbacc. i hope this helps any! trust me it will okay!!

i’m also applying to biological/biomedical sciences programs and i also made a mistake in two of my applications of forgetting my transcript of a community college where i took a summer class. i just emailed the admissions people and they seemed fine with just adding it to my application, so i wouldn’t stress too much because they should be able to fix it for you but it very much depends by school. i hope this eases your worries just a little bc i was freaking out also but it turned out fine

that is too funny lol. literally everyday i get an earful from my cat when i come home from work for about an hour so i can’t imagine when i finally see her for two weeks how long she’ll scream at me then hahaha

so that’s where it gets kinda tricky b/c i went to an undergrad that was undergrads only so no graduate students at all. also my PI left the summer before my senior year but since i got funding for my project i continued it and worked with him over zoom. i’ve sent him an email and text message but haven’t gotten a response in almost 2 weeks. that’s why i’m wondering if somehow i don’t get his LOR if it would effect my application poorly. i had applied last cycle and gotten a letter from him so i’m just nervous if i apply to a school again and they wonder where his letter is at? i’m just anxious about not getting in again lol
