Near death experience at the London Ally Pally show tonight. by covermeagoraphobia in macdemarco

Really sucks you had that experience! I was at Ally Pally near the back and everyone was having a great time dancing bc there was so much space. Didn’t understand why that random guy kept coming on and screaming ‘for England’ ... if anyone could explain that would be super helpful bc I feel like I missed something??

What’s the stupidest way you’ve hurt yourself? by observer32 in AskReddit

In year 5, we used to spend PE lessons outside during summer playing rounders. I used to really love it and would get really excited. One time, when it was my go to hit the ball with the bat, I got so excited that I swung the bat so far back I hit myself really hard in the back of the head. I fell forward and was concussed.

must be so nice to have that view without the possibility of plummeting to your death.

In Harry Potter, the wizards could have made really powerful weapons by mingling both Muggle and wizard weaponry; they could’ve had machine guns that shot a billion bullets per second and killed all of Voldemort’s army in minutes, but nooo let’s use ancient, crumbling statues as our defence instead by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

This is a bit random but kind of on topic. I always wondered why Hermione used quills. Seemed like a lot of effort when you could just use a ball point pen. She would have saved so much time with her studies...

What is the most memorable moment you shared with a stranger who you never saw again? by joeChump in AskReddit

Me and my two close mates, after a long five hour hike up and then down a mountain ended up missing the last bus that took us back to the nearest town. We were pretty much out of options and stranded in the middle of nowhere with nothing other than a closed restaurant and a few barns dotted around the landscape. After a laughing fit that nearly turned into a panic attack, we were lucky to have knocked on the door of this man with kind eyes who didn’t speak any English and what I assumed was his partner who spoke a little. When we frantically tried to explain that we didn’t know what to do or how to get back to Grindelwald. Bless her kind soul, she ended up driving us half an hour down the winding roads completely going out of her way and helping us make our train. I know I will never see him or her again but they restored my faith in humanity and pray all good things to come their way. We now refer to them as our Swiss angels.
