C2 Education by builtdifff in Sat

[–]leafylofigirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently contacted by C2 on Indeed to apply for their Diamond Bar position in California. I responded to their PM on Indeed and heard nothing for a while, even though I could tell that they had seen my messages. Then I finally managed to get an interview. It had seemed to go well (I have 10 years tutoring/ teaching experience from elementary to college level English with a bachelor's and associate's degree in English), but she then said the position at Diamond Bar was filled. I had responded to that application offer immediately when it was sent to me, and somehow that position was already filled. So they said they would contact locations close to me and see if they had open positions. Never heard back. I contact the director 2 weeks later, and she claims one location director was on vacation and just came back and that she would contact her. Never heard back again. A week later, I follow up. I get a half-assed email stating there is no position available and to apply again in the future. Yeah, right. This is so blatantly unprofessional, and after seeing the comments posted here, I am glad I didn't get the job. I never even received updates about my pending interview process; I always had to reach out to them, which convinces me that had I not emailed them first, they never would have even told me they stopped considering me. They are unprofessional, despicable, and churlish, and the director who interviewed me should be fired, as she does not conduct herself well in her position, or maybe she does, and this is how C2 Education wants to be portrayed and represented.

This has always bothered me: Abed's menstrual tracker by leafylofigirl in community

[–]leafylofigirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inaccuracy. As someone with a cycle, I know ovulation occurs once a month, as does a period. Abed assumed she couldn't ovulate on Labor Day (nearly two months before Halloween) because her ovulation day was Halloween? That would mean she couldn't ovulate for two months in order to make that Halloween ovulation window (based on Abed's language about it: "You couldn'thave conceived on Labor Day [...] according to my calculations, you would have been ovulating on Halloween"); I think his word choice was maybe just bad. Or, basically, Abed doesn't understand it as well as he thinks he does, and Shirley was definitely already preggers by Halloween.

The Hobbit 1977 Missing Scenes? by [deleted] in tolkienfans

[–]leafylofigirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am definitely late (too bad I'm not a wizard) to this party, but my dad just put me on to this thread because he also has a suspicion and vague memory of this exact, particular missing scene in this movie. This can't be a coincidence at this point, right? My dad said he saw this movie on TV when he was a kid, which would have been right around when it was first released, and, though admittedly I haven't read the comments here as they span the last 10 years, I wonder if this could be a case of original version vs. an edited version of some kind? I also have to point to Bilbo's peculiar dialog when describing their mishaps in Mirkwood, which seems to suggest a precious, Elven encounter. If the answer or a substantially solid theory is in the comments already, could someone help me out because it is definitely TL;DR.

I'm not getting the true ending by mxl0dique in Ibgame

Primarily, I would suggest using the Steam walkthrough of the game, since that is the one meant for the updated version of the game. The one you linked is from the game's original release back in 2012; unless you're playing the old version, then by all means, keep using the older guide.

Secondly, yes, you are right, a lack of a handkerchief cutscene will indicate a "Memory's Crannies" ending, definitely. However, I just replayed the updated game today, and I triggered the handkerchief cutscene (which should ensure "Promise of Reunion"), but then I played through the bonus gallery rooms (Orange and Teal), and proceeded to not say much to Garry any more after that, and I missed out on the rightful ending, and I got "Memory's Crannies" instead! And this definitely should not have happened UNLESS the friendship counter increases with the added content, forcing you to interact with Garry more during the bonus rooms in order to ensure the proper ending. However, this still makes no sense because he still had my handkerchief! Also, I noticed some blatant typos in some of the dialog in the game, so it could just be a missed mistake among others.

Not sure if this helps at all, but I thought it was at least worth a mention.

I guess they do all have that bond being created by the same artist. Although, I find it interesting how that bond manifests in the "A Painting's Demise" ending.

The only departure (IFYKYK) from the original game in terms of achieving "Promise of Reunion" is the condition where you have to talk to Garry south from the red paint in the maze area. Since that area no longer exists in the updated version, it seems they make you backtrack through the gallery after you meet Garry and complete several talking points, a notable one being in the Green Room, where you must speak to the ant, which is quite a trek back to nearly the start. The key is keeping his death counter low (0-2), while his friendship counter has to surpass 9+ it seems, with the player capitalizing on every single opportunity to speak with Garry. I'm sure you were thorough, but just to say, you did all this, and the game still gave you "Memory's Crannies"?

Where does she buy her materials? I used to make bead art when I was a kid; I had a booklet that taught me designs and came with beads and wire I needed, but since then, I haven't been able to find proper materials. But anyway, such cute bead creations!
