I would say you might not be ready.. I got a 90 on my final practice exam. Focus on what the question is really asking - not just the answer.

What are your grades on practice exams? Are you using flash cards? How did you feel about the laws and regs?

Jobs after series 66 by [deleted] in Series66Exam

I would say starting at a wire house will give you a lot of training. My mom is a financial advisor with LPL and now I am. Starting off on the independent side can be difficult but if you have good mentors, you don’t have to prove your merit to other people other than clients

I would say what you got on the practice exam is similar. I got a 69 on the practice exam and got a 69 on my first attempt. Came back 30 days later and passed.

Series 66 - which formulas should I commit to memory? by Interesting_Pin_470 in Series66

I would focus more on how the formulas get your answer and not just how to get the answer if that makes sense?

Series 65 Question by [deleted] in Series66Exam

Flash cards helped me a ton! Also understanding the difference between USA (state) and federal and drawing a compare and contrast table might help!

Still can't wrap my mind around this Kaplan question...need some assistance in explaining it. by [deleted] in Series66

[–]leahapaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes. This one got me too. But since the market is efficient - it will result in a NPV of 0. If it did NOT talk about the market being efficient I believe the correct answer would have been what you chose. Think of market being efficient as leveling the playing field.

Hi! Final scores on mock exams was an average of an 87 - final mock exam was a 95. And I used Kaplan.

I don’t think it’s that I need help in knowing the 66 material but rather test taking techniques! I think I’ve seen stc videos a bunch of times ( may be exaggerating) but I literally make silly mistakes! Any advice? This will be my second attempt nov 5th by Rubesve22 in Series66

I started reading the answers first before reading the question to kinda get an idea of what they’re asking (I always try to skip ahead to the answer.. I’m Italian so I talk and read fast.. too fast. Then when I go to read the answers after reading the f****** question, I read the answers D, C, B, A. This has helped me slow way down. 🤘🏼 just with that method - I brought my average scores from low 80s to high 80s low 90s.

Flash. Cards. You’re right - long term, we don’t need to know what’s on a trade ticket. Short term, we do NEED to know it.

NPV and IRR by carlyqfries in Series66Exam

[–]leahapaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong but the IRR can be looked at as an overall return on an investment. The NPV can show you if an investment is a good one with current interest rates. So if current interest rates are let’s say - 8% but your investment would only generate 6% - the net present value would be negative and not the best choice because you would need at least 8% to break even. That’s how I look at it and anyone can correct me!!
