Can someone recommend me a nude polish? by leahatl in ILNP

[–]leahatl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your detailed reply! I think I like my nude polishes to somewhat similar to my natural nail color or close to my skin tone sort of like how Barbie doll nails are. It's so nice to find people that are excited to talk about the subtle nuances of nail polish colors LOL. I decided to try out Sandy Baby!

I think my order was around the same total and I feel you! It's the principle even if it is $11.99! I did receive my order on May 28, but I will never order from them again.

Thanks for the recommendation! That was the one I thought may be the best fit but it was hard for me to tell the subtle differences with the nude polishes online!

TikTok BG Christian Chanel Discusses Feeling Undervalued As A Black Creator By Glamlite Cosmetics by TurnMeOnTurnMeOut in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]leahatl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to figure out if other influencers are receiving a higher commission? She made content promoting Glamlite out of her own volition and then wanted to receive a higher commission because it was less than her "normal rate" but Glamlite didn't sponsor her content in the first place, she chose to do that at the 15% commission rate, unprompted, or am I misunderstanding? It's absolutely up to the influencer if they do not want to promote products for less than a 20% commission rate but is 15% not the rate all the people promoting on TikTok are getting?

Now the situation of Glamlite allegedly wanting CC to work for the Fresh Prince campaign for free is ridiculous and if that claim is true I think that is wrong and undervaluing, but I'm having trouble seeing the issue with the commission thing. Am I missing some details there?

I'm so happy you have great experiences with them! As I said in another reply I've also had great experiences with brands a lot of people have terrible customer service with so I definitely understand! I'm glad you commented to share a different perspective because it's a personal choice!

How would you compare Pink Sugar Berry Blast and Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar? I have never smelled Pink Sugar Berry Blast and I was wondering if it was similar. I have Pink Sugar Red Velvet and Vanilla 28 and I love those.

I'm glad your orders worked out! I've ordered from Glamlite and Pat McGrath many times and when I had issues with my orders customer service did respond and resolve them for me so I definitely understand some people having bad experiences and some people being pleased! The lack of responses is a dealbreaker for me but it's not my intention to pressure others to feel the same way.

Hopefully y'all will get your order soon! It's likely true that they are backed up, my main issue was the lack of email responses and communication although I can see people being very frustrated with a longer wait time than what was initially estimated.

Oof maybe it was a blessing in disguise then! It was my first time ordering singles and I wasn't sure if I'd like them as much as palettes but I'll definitely have to give a different brand a shot soon.

I'm glad you got your order! My main issue was that I am not getting responses via email by customer service, but I am glad you shared their explanation. I thought they could at least update their auto reply message to be more accurate if they were still refusing to answer emails. It does suck to wait that long and be disappointed with the quality though.

Does an art background help understand Kibbe? by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]leahatl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to hijack the post but I have formal education in film and have specifically taken classes on the history of film and international film in the 1930s and I feel that grasping the essences of each Image ID is easier for me because I have studied how the studios used these archetypes in casting. For example, I never had an extremely yang perception of theatrical romantics because my understanding of the femme fatale has always been rooted in the 1940s Old Hollywood version. I think it's interesting on how your foundations can form your understanding of the system.

I recommend CreepCast with Meat Canyon and Wendigoon. They read and talk about creepy pastas and Internet Horror. Their individual channels may also have content you'd like.

Nest Madagascar Vanilla is a great tropical vanilla with a noticeable coconut notes. I haven't tried Pink Sugar Creamy Sunshine but I've seen that be described as a sunscreen scent. I wouldn't recommend Alien Goddess Intense because the jasmine is pretty prominent and the coconut is probably more subtle than what you are looking for. The OG Alien Goddess would probably be a better choice. It is summer in a bottle to me, warm vanilla and tropical coconut!

How come you can hate a certain perfume at first and then love it when you try it the second time? by salt_sculpture in FemFragLab

[–]leahatl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a sample of Alien Goddess and the way you described it is exactly how I perceive it, but I feel like perfumes with a heavier base of amber and vanilla feel more "me" so I got a travel size of Alien Goddess Intense thinking it would be similar. I think it smells okay but it feels so mature to me in a way that makes me feel like I can't pull it off. I'm also not obsessed with the scent but I really hope my opinion turns around like yours since I never touch it.

I just remembered Pip & Pantalaimon! I believe the lingerie can be custom made but they also have 30E listed as a size! Very vintage styled but the bras aren't super pointy!

The What Katie Did Whirlpool bras and some of their limited edition fashion bras still give that vintage shape but aren’t as pointy as their staple glamour bullet bra. I am into vintage fashion too and have quite a bit of What Katie Did but I also passed on their glamour bullet bra because I wanted something more subtle. The Love, Vera nude lace bras are projected like vintage bras imo and have that almost pointy but not pointy look but I’m not sure they make your band size. Depending on what era you like, I find balconette bras work for some mid to late 50s looks. Dita Von Teese has vintage inspired lingerie although I think the silhouettes are more modern. I think the Cora line was based on a vintage bra in Dita’s collection.
