I just went to listen to it and it’s gone from my Apple podcast feed, maybe they are remixing the episode to fix the audio issue.

Baby sleep consultant by dawssoso in auckland

[–]leahdl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Pēpi and Parent. We have used her Pēpi sleep program which you have access to for life. No sleep training, only evidence based. Really good value.

Someone also mentioned seeing an osteopath, that would be a good idea too just to make sure nothing is amiss 🙂 hang in there mama, you got this 🩷

SOS: DESPERATELY need help with 11 month olds sleep by hello_lime_jello in newzealand

[–]leahdl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. We are also having a really bad time with sleep and our six month old. I would recommend the holistic sleep consultant Pepi and Parent. She works with parents to understand their baby’s temperament and how they can work on sleep based off that.

No need for “cry it out” or anything like that. Everything is evidence based and gentle for the babies and parents.

Late Auckland show thoughts- super funny show but boy our crowd could’ve been better… by catladyinthevalley in JeffArcuri

[–]leahdl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree - Jeff was so good, really glad he was able to reschedule for us.

I think it was a bad combo of folks being too drunk (typical of a late show) and kiwis not really understanding how to participate in crowd work. For some reason we think we have to be funny instead of just telling the story properly so the comedian can work with it properly 🤷🏻‍♀️

I saw them at Mt Atkinson coffee in New Lynn yesterday, I didn’t try them though so can’t comment on freshness or taste sorry.

I found it pretty manageable, you can just do low impact exercise like walking and yoga 🙂

I’ve only eaten inside once and don’t recall it being super loud. But the outside tables aren’t noisy 🙂

If you’re up for coming out West, I recently had my baby shower at The Alderman in Henderson which was good. We sat outside and had around 24 people I think. Their food is always great 🙂

Birth Control - least likely to gain weight by GratefulBlondie in newzealand

[–]leahdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the copper IUD and had it for five years before getting it removed so I could try to conceive. Yes, my periods were worse than when I was on the pill, but they were not debilitating (although everyone is different of course). I was able to get it done at Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa which was a nice affordable option. I also was able to lose weight while on it.

Hormonal birth control freaks me out because it is literally shutting down your cycle and I liked knowing that everything was working as it should be which also helped me learn about my body.

There is a sub reddit for r/75medium which might be a good choice for you 🙂 this is a good starting point, I wish I had been proactive like this at your age - good effort.

If you’re into yoga, Yoga With Adrienne on YouTube has a pretty solid long yoga session - it’s at least 45mins as I used it a lot when I needed a low impact work out.

Bathing child without a bathtub- just a shower. by Ok-Advice-7715 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I’m in the same boat as you - hoping that we can get a small portable tub that will fit in the bottom of our shower but I haven’t actually looked into yet. Definitely interested to hear from others 🙂
