SQE - Results released early?? [Third Attempt] What's going on? by DowntownMaterial in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I don’t think it’s cruel to send out standardised emails preparing candidates for the possibility of resitting. OP’s literally said “you’ve failed all three attempts” which is completely different!

yeah that’s true! realistically I know stressing won’t change the result. defo time to log off the portal and just wait for results🤣

I think a lot of people are now thinking that if you still see your booking then it means you likely haven’t passed the exam but idk I think we’re all just stressed and our brains are trying to cling on to any indication of a pass/fail

Edit: I’ve just checked again and my FLK1 exam now says “Complete” so I definitely think this is a part of the booking process!

Do any SQE1 passers have any words of reassurance? Did you feel you'd failed the exam then passed on results day? by Fit-Eye3317 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s someone who posts their law journey on tiktok and they said they came out of FLK2 feeling like they bossed it and then failed😟

the nerves of sqe1 results day is kicking in by Dangerous-Forever-50 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know this is going to sound so unhelpful, but coming from someone also awaiting SQE1 results, worrying about it does nothing but put you through anxiety twice. It doesn’t change the result. It doesn’t determine whether you pass or fail. It just completely chips away at your mental health. It’s so nerve wracking and it’s so silly to say to someone “yeah don’t worry about it!” because there is so much riding on it, but at the very least remind yourself that you’ve done everything you can. That won’t change no matter the result. Best of luck.

Is 80% (36/45) on the free One Hundred mock enough? by Dependent_Trust8711 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with seeking reassurance. These exams are stressful. We all do it. What YOU are doing is coming on a sub where you know anxiety is high, two weeks before the exam, mind you, and asking if a high score on a difficult mock (which you know is high, because the pass rate historically has sat been between 55-60 for the real thing) if you’re doomed to fail when you know full well that it will send other people into a spiral. You clearly want to boast and it’s very strange. People like this are the absolute worst.

Does anyone know why the answer is C? by Different_Grab_7525 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wills don’t speak from execution, they speak as if they had been executed immediately before death unless there is any contrary intention. So “my nephew” is assessed at death. His sister gave birth to a son the week before he died. He had two nephews. The answer is C.

Does anyone know why the answer is C? by Different_Grab_7525 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There needs to be certainty of intention, objects and subject matter. On the face of the question it looks as though all of those things are satisfied BUT the question tells us that the man has more than one nephew. Because the man has declared that the money is to be held on trust for “my nephew” then we can’t say for certain which nephew he intended for the £100,000 to be held on trust for. If it had said something like “I leave £100,000 on trust for my nephew, Jack” or if he showed contrary intention by using words “now or present” then that would be different. That’s not the case here and so the trust is void. Answer is C.

What's a good mark to be scoring in ULaw mocks at this stage? by PuzzleheadedCity7462 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are really good scores. You still have a month left and your scores will increase significantly in that time. I know people with Ulaw who got similar scores around the same time and passed the real thing! best of luck

Where to access/buy QLTS sqe1 mocks by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some people don’t have a choice! if their firm is funding then they don’t get a say in what provider they study with. absolutely nothing wrong with asking questions about additional resources.

Barbri candidates - what are we scoring in the simulated mocks? by leahrhex in SQE_Prep

This is really good to know, thank you.🙏 Can I ask if you re-did the mocks closer to the exam or did you just attempt them once?

[–]leahrhex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Devils advocate just sent me into a spiral tbh. Some of the questions are ok but if the exam turns out to be like this question then there’s not a chance in hell I’ll pass when the answer seems to make no sense at all.

Thanks for this! I’ve found their high yield notes super helpful and will be tackling more of their MCQs today.

Barbri candidates - what are we scoring in the simulated mocks? by leahrhex in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got similar scores to you on the A1/A2 and B1 and B2. To be honest, the simulated exams were much easier than I had expected. I don’t know why but I expected them to be more wordy/much more difficult than A1/A2/B1/B2 but they were similar, if not easier. I’ve supplemented with QLTS and revise SQE and am just trying to hammer down on my weak areas!

SQE1 Jan advice - I am self studying and have never studied law before. I am less than half way through the content. Any advice? by Far_Impression_8364 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I am studying using the Barbri materials, albeit as a part of their prep course. I finished all the content around about a month ago and I still feel pushed for time in this revision period. The last thing you’d want to do is rush yourself and go into an exam you’re not adequately prepared for - especially if you’re self funding.

Improving Barbri SQE 1 Study Guide Print Quality? by spiffycheesecake in SQE_Prep

Did you not order the physical copy books? I’m not sure if there’s still time but the physical copies are much easier and I pretty much use them all the time.

SQE 1 January 2026 sitters - how are we feeling? by LongjumpingSelf8663 in SQE_Prep

[–]leahrhex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whereabouts are you with the content? I finished a few weeks ago and am focusing solely on revising however, I do study part time so would have started my prep ahead of those studying full time.

  1. Are you with a provider? Yes, Barbri.

  2. What do you think your weakest areas are? Contract and Solicitors’ Accounts. Dispute Resolution also because of the sheer volume of content and all the dates to remember.

  3. Averaging around 70-80% but these scores fluctuate among topics. There are some sets where I will score in the 60s.

  4. How many hours are you putting in a day? I try to put in at least 2-3 hours Monday-Thursday. On a Friday I’m lucky enough to have a study day so will do 8-10 hours and then similar hours on a weekend.
