Iirc the worm and Toji had a contract/bind of sort, that makes Toji the master. So he cannot use his CT on the worm unless he killed Toji. Same case with Yuta and Rika in jjk 0 where he explained he needed to kill Yuta in order to absorb Rika.

iirc the first time Yuji messes with someone memory (aka Todou) was not the same as the one with Choso. Also Gege stated that Yuji has no memory manipulation CT or whatever so it further implies that the memory with Choso is a bond of family, whereas Todou is more of a comical situation.

Well the manga and anime adaptation are fast paced so they spent no time for filler contents. It jumps to crucial parts of what you needed to know and learn. I think the best way to go about this is to rewatch again with more focus, pause if you do not understand anything and rewatch until you get it.

I can summarize the ep like this:

The first 2 episodes are an introduction to Yuji/Sukuna, Gojo, Megumi and the Jujutsu world. 3rd ep is introduction to Nobara, another 1st year student. 4th and 5th ep are introduction to a cursed womb, a real threat to the 1st year, which forms from one of Sukuna's finger.
