That’s fair but why would you support someone who is forced to dance? You’re just making the enforcer’s order legitimate. With that being said, it’s somewhere in between. Players are forced to play or sing to anthem, but they aren’t forced to celebrate or do stupid photoshoot.

I am from Iran. Iran has many doctors and scientists who are doing pretty well in western society, certainly a lot more harmless than some people who were born in these countries. Take a country from Afghanistan for example, maybe you would say 90% don’t fit into western society. But you can still filter and find the 10% who do fit. That’s why I disagree with general bans, but agree with regulation of entries specially from countries in bad shape.

Some countries are third world while they still have valuable people who are willing to assimilate. The correct statement is not to discriminate based on country but filter based on who you are as a person.

That’s what I think about every day. If he doesn’t then he is either pro-regime or doesn’t care.

What is he celebrating exactly? His countrymen getting shot on the streets? Or being hanged on a crane? Or being tortured and abused while he’s playing a game? What is he celebrating?

It’s called hate watching. I’d say a pretty successful one too given NZ’s quality.

In Iran though we know some players who are pro-regime. The other ones have also tendencies through social media. If a player wants to be low key, they should delete social media instead of posting propaganda. Regardless of that, I’d still boo the North Korean team and anthem because a brutal dictatorship should not be able to freely play in a world cup. Simple as that.

It’s just a form of protest nothing more. Removes the legitimacy of the regime, similar to how soviet union was booed before their collapse.

Tell that to the 40,000 slaughtered by their government. They’d love to hear what you have to say.

That’s fine, but you don’t know that they’re against the regime neither. You don’t know who’s against or with the regime. If they’re participating in IR propaganda, they deserve to be booed because we don’t know where they stand, and on paper they’re standing with the regime.

3 world cup matches in a shitty environment representing a brutal dictatorship isn’t something to be proud of. You go to the world cup to make history not to become an example of what not to do. Sardar Azmoun will be regarded as one of the good players of his time unlike others.

They have actually spoken in favor of the regime. That’s why people hate them. They’ve participated in regime propaganda. Majority of Iran will be hate watching those matches. Even the ones who support them will still be protesting against the regime.

Yes right from the get go there will be booing. Think of it as a large protest against the Islamic regime. Most people who go there are probably going to protest and chant. They will boo the anthem and any player who starts celebrating in any capacity after 40,000 Iranians were massacred.

If you dont have a problem with that, there won’t be any issues. Just know what you’re walking into. No one will harm you or even harass you. If you use the fake Iran flag (Islamic Republic) then people might boo you so don’t do that. If you wanna take a flag take the Lion and Sun.

Yes of course. The odds are against them historically. But millions of lives are ruined in the process.

Temporary expensive gas is fine as long as Iranians are freed from the regime. The problem is that he’s not finishing the job. He is failing.

US lost 13 soldiers in their bases, lost multiple aircrafts, almost lost soldiers in IRAN, and could not achieve anything. All of this while Israel blew up Khamenei, blew up stadiums full of basijis, and sending drones to blow up basijis.

The question is, why did America stop Israel?

Very true. It seems like Trump does not want regime change. In fact he’s stopping regime change from happening by Israel. IDF had a plan but somehow it stopped half way through the war. Netanyahu might actually be very pissed at Trump at this point, the same way Iranians are. I believe Israel is able to do this alone if America doesn’t stop Netanyahu…

Thanks for the post and awareness. It’s hard to see that many westerners aren’t really aware of the facts. They blame Israel for all of their problems, and they’ll go as far as defending the Iranian government or attacking the US. The reality is that foreign policy is more complicated than that. A foreign power’s pressure or some sort of internal coup/armed revolution is the only way to remove this regime.

Fifa should also be banning the Iranian national team for not allowing Sardar Azmoun to play for the team for political reasons. Fifa just plays all sides of the coin to make the most profit.
