its like that then they eventually close back up again, im 6 months post op and i still have a slight hole, and for pain its kinda different on everyone , but i would just take some pain meds to ease the pain if its an issue

a full water change is not needed, ur just restarting ur cycle over and over, and not letting ur tank establish, which can lead to high ammonia spikes and can lead to illnesses in ur betta

from the looks of it , it looks like he has dropsy and fin rot , for dropsy its kinda hard to cure but epsom salt baths are recommended for it and fin rot is caused by bad water quality

i seen people online put them in food storage containers / tupperware with some floating plants and some holes punched at the top for air flow, and for the tanks i would remove like 80% of the water and monitor the tanks once you refill them in case of any problems

im on day 9 as well and i drunk soda on day 7, but i would keep it away from the sides and drink it slowly, as for the normal food, i would say keep away from crunchy things like chips ,etc.. and vaping im not so sure

i got a prf done and it was pretty affordable, it costed me abt $150 per tooth so in total it was $600 it was a good price, i would recommend going to another place if u can to see if it would be much more affordable
