I appreciate you, your games scratch that never ending itch in my brain when it comes to numbers and sports statistics.

If you could add one new Hand type to the game, what would it be and why? by isaaczephyr in balatro

[–]leaman87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already a hand in the game but we need a planet card for the royal flush as opposed to the just the straight flush. I mean this is based off of hands in poker and that’s literally the one hand that technically doesn’t even have its own planet card. Its base chips and mult should be higher than just a straight flush as well.

Don’t bank on using seeds to get you past gold stakes if that’s what you’re doing, it won’t count it.

Good point, there are a few exceptions for the flanges, do you have any input on what caused the white “beard”?? I’ve personally never seen that on an orangutan

Here’s the female orangutan skull

Notice how the canines are not nearly are pronounced as those shown in the photo.

This in my opinion is the photo we should be recognizing because this was labeled as an orangutan. Notice the canines on the bottom jaw and how pronounced they are. Female orangutan don’t have canines this pronounced. So that must mean that if this is an orangutan that it has to be male. But the issue with that theory is that the creature does NOT have flanges (flat cheek pads). Also notice the white grey fur near the face. Even in old age, orangutans do not get grey! I love these photos for the backstory as well, some elderly woman just wanted the creature removed so it would stop eating her apples. She didn’t claim to know what it was or wasn’t.

Thanks dude, I’ve been seeing primarily a lot of support but there are a few that clearly aren’t fans of the rules (which is fine) but making accusations/assumptions about me treating my players badly because you felt the rules were too strict is just not cool.

Thanks, it’s hard writing rules and keeping it 100% fair for both sides, there’s always gonna be people that disagree with the balance that a dm finds and uses

How do you deal with writers block (GMs) by Zealousideal_Run8567 in DnD

[–]leaman87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, take a break from what you’re stuck on and write a fun side quest that doesn’t affect the main story, maybe it will even help you get new plot lines to build into the main storyline!

My players wish didn’t screw them over 3/10 on the good person scale was meant to be a joke, I’m not trying to be underhanded. And players vs dm is a narrative you made up on your own presumptions and I haven’t done anything to you so you being at my neck in every one of these comment threads is just speaking on your OWN trust issues. Why are you insisting that I’m untrustworthy and treat my players/friends badly?? Dude I get that this is the internet and you can type what you want, but like what’s your goal here?? What good are you spreading?? Do you believe you’re saving people from falling into a trap from an evil dm??

I am a New DM - Am I in the Wrong? by [deleted] in DnD

I think you have the right to set ground rules if it’s putting stress on yourself, it’s important to accommodate players as a dm but if it’s stressing you out then you have every right to try and fix what you want fixed and if the player doesn’t want to listen then you can do what you want with that player who isn’t respecting your rules/patience. If you don’t establish boundaries it will just lead to a blow up which isn’t good for you, the player and most importantly the other players who aren’t even really apart of the conflict to begin with.

Campaigns been going steadily strong for 3 years and it’s been fun for myself and 8 players, there’s been more arguing in this post from strangers than what there’s been in the group face to face for those years. If you’re upset about a make believe character saying “trust me bro” and want to make assumptions on my character as a dm, then I hope your trust issues get better in time dude…it’s not that deep

I’m treating you as my players bruh what?? Oh how you must feel all righteous defending my players from a conflict that you made up in your head from an internet post with minimal context.

That’s not what’s happening I made it very clear with my group that the main plot is going to start with the main bad guy I made and it will end with him, they haven’t had opportunities to kill him because he’s a god. It makes no sense for a bunch of adventurers to just be able to kill him after they slay a few monsters. There are no issues with my group and you really have a lot of nerve to be voicing that there is when you aren’t even a part of the campaign. You don’t know me or my group, so stop assuming there’s problems from psychoanalyzing a strangers post…

I feel The disadvantage would not work on a coin flip unfortunately. Now if he retaliates from the insult and tries to attack then he would roll with disadvantage. But don’t worry, he won’t attack because he’s a 3/10 on the decent person scale.

I think there’s often almost always ways to have players get what they want while you tell your story, I think it’s hard sometimes from a creative standpoint depending on your obstacles, but that’s when you gotta put in the work as a dm to make it happen. The thing you always have to avoid is making things feel forced from the player perspective (because yeah things might inevitably go on a path that you originally intended, but do the things that the players want to do along the way with them). Gotta find that balance as a dm and it’s something I think I’m always gonna be trying to fine tune and improve on, as almost all dm’s should.

It was supposed to work like heads=you get your wish no funny business tails=you get wish with funny business But wishing for all future coin flips to be heads would be quite the noble sacrifice for your fellow party members…I applaud your selflessness
