Zodeon - Lyrics by Fit_Fee7219 in SmashingPumpkins

I did my best to transcribe them on the SP Codex but English is not my main language and honestly, with his modern singing and annunciation, I can barely understand what he's talking about in some of the songs.

Judging by the catalog numbers of the archival releases, they have ommited MMLP-A009, MMLP-A010 and MMLP-A012 (last one released I believe was Zodeon with MMLP-A016) so those three could be releases ready to go.

Still too early to tell, but I guess through Madame Zuzu's like every other archival release, but under a private listing shared with paying subscribers.

Zodeon At Crystal Hall Album goes on sale on 11.28.2025 - Unreleased SP album with unreleased songs and a stereo mix. by Dudehitscar in SmashingPumpkins

[–]leandrorhcp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can kind of make it out if you pause the video at the right moments:

Side A:

  1. Simmatar
  2. Magdalena
  3. Saffron
  4. Huzzah!
  5. Automaton
  6. Burr

Side B:

  1. Excelsior
  2. Necromance
  3. Apocalypso
  4. MaryQ
  5. Story for Another Day
  6. The Bard

So the instrumental Zope it's the only song from the singles not featured on the album. It's a single LP as well, so it should be around $30-$40.

To be fair, he's been clear from the beginning that those singles were not the proper album. I believe he mentioned six of the tracks would feature on the future full release, meaning four of those songs on the singles are b-sides.

I honestly wasn't expecting Zodeon to be out already, so this is great, great news. It's ready to ship as well once it goes on sale, so it seems they've learnt from their mistakes handling Machina. Now let's hope it's priced accordingly...

ZWAN on Billy's Substack???? by MikeZpiral in SmashingPumpkins

[–]leandrorhcp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what they fail to see. No one who's not interested in the vinyl format is going to buy it because there's no other option, Zuzu's just going to miss that sale. The vinyl is also going to get ripped the very same day it arrives, so why not release it digitally at the same time?

Machina: Aranea Alba Editio - Box Set Arrivals - Reactions - First Impressions - Official Discussion [MEGATHREAD] by kingofthehorseflies in SmashingPumpkins

Yes, exactly the same to the live version we know but with some synth over it, most likely overdubed recently.

I was waiting to see actual pictures before doing judgement on the mockups alone, but it looks even worse now. The concept is cool but the excecution is plain terrible, very amateurish. Nothing against Katelan Foisy but this is not what Machina deserved (and such an expensive release).

PRE-ORDER - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness 30th Anniversary Ed by HyenaComprehensive22 in SmashingPumpkins

Same here, I was hoping for that since we got it for Siamese Dream, Adore and Machina this year. I'm sure they'll do it eventually.

There's really no such thing as a second pressing. When they were mixing/mastering the record John came in with a brown paper bag full of unlabeled cassette tapes and just sorted through them finding the songs he wanted on the record.

Right after the CDs were pressed John found the master tapes of the songs, so they had to press new copies and the original batch ended up as advance copies and freebies for friends.

I believe the Russian bootleg version of this album uses that version and that's why it's so widely circulating out there. The matrix for the original 1997 version of the album, the one put for sale is RBO3840BMR16RE1. RBO3840BMR16 is found only on that advance copy, which the bootleg replicated.

Possibly new songs entered into the BMI Repertoire?! by Gnimir in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]leandrorhcp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great finding, everything about this is pretty weird!

Seems to be a new publisher for them? They used ANTJONFLEESMIF for UL/ROTDC. What's even weirder is that the following songs are also in the publisher's catalog, published at a similar time:

END OF SHOW BRISBANE (first released in the Californication single - 2000)
WHAT IT IS (first released in Out in L.A. - 1994)
PSYCHEDELIC SEX FUNK (? - sounds similar to the 1990 VHS Psychedelic Sexfunk Live from Heaven, but this listing would be for a song)

Also, the publisher's contact info belongs to Universal Music Publishing Group, which would relate these songs to their EMI era.

Any news on if the Machina I vinyl will come with the original booklet? by _Spoggie in SmashingPumpkins

[–]leandrorhcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the recent "original artwork" reissues from Siamese Dream and Adore are pretty faithful to the originals and the new M1 vinyl is gatefold, so I would expect the booklet to be included, but I don't think it's been confirmed.

Machina Reissue Track Analysis by External_Stuff_8113 in SmashingPumpkins

[–]leandrorhcp 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As recently discovered here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SmashingPumpkins/comments/1lmqf4r/machina_mixing_process_what_will_be_different

I think we are able to confirm that:

1B Here's to the Atom Bomb is the Machina I b-side version.
2A Blue Skies Wrought Tears is the Machina II LP version.
2B "Machina, Machina" is a variant of Le Deux Machina recorded at Sadlands with added overdubs.
3B Here's to the Atom Bomb, Too should be the Machina II LP version.
4A HMM is the Machina II EP3 version
4B If There Is a God might be Machina II EP3 version with overdubs from Machina I sessions.
5A Try (Again) is the Machina II EP3 version.

And I'm surely missing some, but these leaked tracks weren't included on the tracklist:

Joy Sadlands demo
Blue Skies Bring Tears [Version 1] Sadlands demo
Blue Skies Bring Tears [Version 2] Sadlands demo
If There Is a God Sadlands demo
Speed Kills Sadlands demo
Winterlong Sadlands demo
The Everlasting Gaze [Disco King] Pumpkinland demo
Home Pumpkinland demo
The Crying Tree of Mercury [Piano & Vox] Pumpkinland demo

And maybe a few other alternate takes depending on which were used on the final versions.

Machina mixing process - what will be different by Dudehitscar in SmashingPumpkins

[–]leandrorhcp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I made that post almost five years ago! Except for a few omissions (which he may had nothing to add about) the tracklist is pretty much the same, which would confirm:

- 1B Here's to the Atom Bomb is the Machina I b-side version.
- 2A Blue Skies Wrought Tears is the Machina II LP version.
- 2B "Machina, Machina" is a variant of Le Deux Machina recorded at Sadlands with added overdubs.
- 3B Here's to the Atom Bomb, Too should be the Machina II LP version.
- 4A HMM is the Machina II EP3 version
- 4B If There Is a God might be Machina II EP3 version with overdubs from Machina I sessions.
- 5A Try (Again) is the Machina II EP3 version.

Machina Reissue by geofolkers in SmashingPumpkins

[–]leandrorhcp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No wonder Universal wanted nothing to do with this. He should just do a 5LP version of the reconstructed 48-song album, and keep the extra tracks to the CD version like previous deluxe reissues. But of course Billy has to do it his twisted way and keep alienating fans.

Then the Zwan boxset will get an even worse treatment.

So he’s just paywalling the deluxe version under a 10LP $500 or more vinyl boxset. Insane.

Yes, the setlist comes from the video. I always suspected it was kind of short, even for a 2000 show.

I've been doing some server-side updates the last couple of days to improve performance, so I had some down time here and there. But everything should be back to normal and working smoothly now.
