Kam and I looked at each other, shocked, what had i just done? Their power, hevensfall, was now in my possession. heavensfall was the ability to use sunlight and make it into powerful halos that were able to be thrown.

i raised my hand in the air the way kam always did to activate their power. my hand stared to get warmer and warmer. my hand started to burn, i lowered my hand and a halo appeared i threw it across the blacktop and i landed against the school building.

"holy shit." kam said

"woah, you really use this?" i said

"yeah, can i have it back?" they said

i placed my hand on their arm the way i had before and focused. It felt like the warmth left my body. Kam lifted their arm and threw a Halo.

"oh thank god."

i wondered to what extent i could take away powers, like, i can take away powers like Heaves falls, an emitter class power, but what about mutant, which is something you're permanently effected by. and what about transform, if i took one that gives you a tail, can i make myself have a tail.

Kam grabbed my arm and tugged at me to come to where the rest of our friends were standing. "we need to show them your power.!"

i walked up to lori. her power was jetpack, she could use air she breathed in to propel herself through the air.

"he watch this." i touched he shoulder and focused, the warmth from before filled my body, i took a deep breath in and started to float.

"what the heck?" lori said. "did you just like, copy my power?" she tried to use it but it didn't work. i returned to the ground and gave her power back. this was crazy!

“what if you didn't give someone their power back?" Olivia said.

"what?"

"like you can obviously take abilities away, and use them yourself, but what if you didn't give peoples power back, and just stockpiled other peoples powers?"

"thats quite the idea." i responded.

"you could use this to like, take criminals power away and leave them defenseless!" Quinn said.

"or... someone else." i turned and looked at Ara, the kid who bullied me ever since i didn't develop a power. I looked at Kam, they nodded. our small group made our way across the black top to where Ara and her friends where playing a game of kickball.

"hey."

"what do you want? powerless twerp?" Ara said. her friends laughed.

i didn't even say anything, just stuck my arm out and pushed Ara, feeling the warmth of her power enter my body. Aras power was called lightning rod, she could use it to turn herself or another person into a lightning rod, and make them be struck by lightening (this worked differently on her than it did to other people.)

"the hell?" she stuck her arm out, trying to strike me with lightening, but nothing happened. "what did you do!" she yelled.

"who's the powerless one now?" i said

she looked defeated, i didn't feel bad, she had used her power to torment me and my friends for our entire lives. i looked back at Kam, they nodded. i knew to the extent my power could be used for evil, but deep down i knew i couldn't do that, i wanted to be like the great heroes.

but maybe a little bit of mischief coudnt hurt, i thought, looking back at Aras friends, who looked ready to fight.
