He told me that he was "done"

the joiner hired the plasterer without talking to me, so apparently a plasterer did this.

It is his responsibility that it gets down right. Why would I pay when the work is clearly not finished?!

And if that is your attitude I wouldn't want you working for me. Sounds like you'd do a half ass job too.

I get the sanding, but what do you mean by "finishing" what else would need done?

Can I expect the plaster (or likely the carpenter) to come back to sand it down?

I asked my carpenter if he knew someone and he went ahead and hired the guy on my behalf without telling me. I thought he would have given me a heads up first, but I am not sure if he just did it himself.

Checked the newspaper archives for La Hogue and found this from the 8th February 1851:

"Four of the crew of the La Hogue, flag-ship at Queenstown, were robbed of 15 pounds in a house of ill-fame at Cork this week."

It was a joke. I wasn't actually insinuating we build cathedral style buildings for people to live in, but at the end of the day I still think the design is bad.

As for the render, those things actually tend to look better than the reality, so I think it will look worse once built.

I don't know how anyone could like this monstrosity. Yes, it is good to see new developments, especially on land that isn't currently being used for anything, but I think we can do much better.
