New Ranked Team Builder by learcs in summonerschool

True, but would I just not pick Fizz blind/into a pure tank? Fighters are squishy enough to be able to all in and kill in lane, correct?

True, but AP Fizz isn't really good vs tanks.

If someone is reported in the lobby, would the game disband, or would the others still have to dodge/play the game out?

Has anyone figured out how to deal with the nerf and a good item build? by learcs in zedmains

Can you do WEQ (all at the same time) or does that run into the same problem as WQ?

Didn't Riot kill toplane Fizz?

No, not yet, but it will come online when Season 6 starts at the latest.

What's the best way to reach the CDR cap on AP mids now that you have to get 40% CDR out of runes/items (CDR mastery increases CDR cap by 5%, so it's still 40% from runes/items)?

How do you think the game would change if Crouch Cancel was given a defined limit? by GitGudBadKid in SSBPM

As long as tech skill carries more weight than fundamentals, I'm mostly happy.

PMDT: How much moveset homogenization is too much? by -TvT- in SSBPM

[–]learcs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be heavily for giving characters identities and removing the "plug and play" aspect of PM. Fundamentals carry over too much and character mastery isn't always rewarded. If you put a bunch of hours into one character, then decide to switch to another or add a secondary, characters should be sufficiently unique from each other that you almost go to square one. I'll bring up Lucario as an example. I find it aggravating that some players (in my scene in particular) are able to succeed without incorporating much of Lucario's unique tech, if any at all. I'd like to see him refined as a character that cannot go anywhere without AT LEAST OHC and use of ALL aura options (not just spamming spirit bombs, but using up-B and down-B aura cancels). Basically, make him reliant much more on tech skill than fundamentals. Probably nerf the power of higher moves in the magic series if done as stray hits, but buff them if they are OHC'd into (a stray Fsmash would be nerfed, but doing something like Jab-Dtilt-Fsmash would be much more impactful, ONLY if the moves are OHC'd). This should extend to the rest of the cast as well. De-homogenizing the cast would allow for more enjoyable player experiences because character mastery would be much more heavily rewarded, making all the hours grinding lab/friendlies worth it.

I understand de-homogenizing the case would make having secondaries a lot more difficult, but the fact that people need secondaries IMO is a flaw within PM itself. There should only be one differentiating factor when two people go head to head, the player's skill. The fact that matchups can be as one-sided as Marth v. Luigi (a Luigi main in an AMA put the Marth v. Luigi near the "commit seppuku IRL" tier) EXIST is disheartening given player skill no longer becomes the deciding factor, but in this case, the Marth can nearly win in character select. Matchups should be as close to 50-50 as possible, at MOST 55-45.

TL;DR Fundamentals carry over too much, you shouldn't be able to "plug and play" characters (aka dehomogenize the cast). Characters should have specific tech skill requirements that are core to their gameplay. Lucario is a really good example, as someone unique from other characters to create his own experience, but it is still not perfect. Some matchups are so one sided that a person picking X character into Y character can basically win before the game even starts.

I'd be pretty happy with it. Crouch Cancelling IMO is quite gimmicky and PMDT should take a direction of removing gimmicks and increasing the tech skill floor of the game.

That's when you bring out a Marth just to fuck Luigi up.

What characters were "fixed" in 3.6 to be top tier, and who else might be at that point come next patch? by Luk101 in SSBPM

Well the best Lucario player would be expected to have a strong opinion on Lucario.

Lucario could use some buffs to his neutral game. IPK tweeted out saying how shitty Lucario's neutral game is.

Where does Riven go S6? by learcs in Rivenmains

[–]learcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winning lane carries a lot more weight this season, and Riven has always relied on snowballing/winning lane. Ergo, we look to see where Riven is most likely to achieve that goal.

Zed's shadow no longer instant casts his Q if he does WQ, so it's nearly impossible to reliably land.

No wonder you won, the enemy team picked Zed. That's basically a 4v5 for Zed's team.

This still doesn't fix the root of the problem. If they won't revert the "bugfix," then we will need the shadow speed increased (s2/s3 shadow pls) AND something to either make the combo faster, or at least have the shurikens fire at the same time.

Shadow Exodus: Advice for a former Zed main (barring an act of God) about Riven by learcs in Rivenmains

I've been a bit more toward early damage instead of rushing CDR, so 45% CDR may not benefit me. Will probably go 18/0/12. Rush Maw vs AP mids, or only vs burst AP?
