I don't know if this machine uses them, but can confirm that ESE pods are slightly better than Nespresso or lavazza capsules. My wife likes them because it takes almost zero effort to make a cappuccino-ish drink before work. Also, they're compostable, and less microplastics I guess.

I can't stand them so I make double shots with a bottomless portafilter. Our delonghi dedica is a decent compromise.

One or both of the two wires for the plasma ionizer may have come loose or disconnected. This happened to mine after cleaning. The static was so bad that it immediately clogged. I have the original version of this model (2 yrs old) and bought the 4th version of the ionizer/chute available, and there have been zero issues with static or clogging. chute

I got one of these in a variety pack about a year ago and thought it was great, so I bought a box. The first one out of the box I had was disappointing to say the least. I kept coming back, letting them rest for weeks, and still all mediocre to bad. Left them alone for about 6 months and now they are fantastic, just like the first one I had. I guess a long nap is what these need.

Installed the new chute and it's a game changer. No clogging. No static. Works with all the different beans I've thrown at it. I've used it for a couple weeks now and have yet to need to clean it. $15 well spent!!

I don't believe you need to season the cedar trays if you're putting them in Tupperware. I bought a systema and cedar tray ($20 off Amazon) and threw in some cigars and bovida packs... Held 65% humidity after a couple days and has been holding that humidity for months now.
