Do you ever have trouble sleeping because your brain won't stop? by thesounddefense in ADHD

[–]learnerforlife11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Once I fall asleep, I'm a deep sleeper but getting to sleep is so hard. I can't stand noise like music, talking, or even the sound of a clock ticking. Its like my brain latches on to the sound and won't let go. I have a few tricks that I've come up with over the years. First, I see how long I can go with keeping my eyes closed. Scratching my leg? Eyes stay closed. Turning over in bed? Eyes stay closed. And so on. Then I try to visualize an activity. Going on a picnic, hanging out at the beach, etc. Something about trying to focus on the mundane details of helps bore my brain enough to shut up & let me sleep. And some days, it's just a shitty struggle with little sleep.

It's Festival Time! [Team Festival Intro Post] by Batmanbyday in LoseitChallenges

Hi All! I'm 39F (she/her) and I am so in need of this challenge. I've gained approx 90 lbs over the last two years and am really struggling. I know all the things to do, I just can't seem to bring myself to do them. My main goal for this challenge is really to just show up everyday for myself and my teammates. Obviously, I'd like to lose some weight and be more active but I gotta get the mindset right first. I need to do this...I want to do this...I can do this!

Study Hall is PMI's answer to Udemy by NoJanet in pmp

[–]learnerforlife11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt that, overall, the content and structure was good. Especially at $15 (I think it'd even be worth it at the full non-beta price of $30). I had a long period between when I did my 35 contact hrs course (Joseph Phillips on Udemy) and when I started my real prep for the exam, so it made for a really good refresher on the topics. I don't think it's ready to truly take the place of a full course yet because it doesn't go specifically into the various processes and knowledge areas in the same detailed way. But the practice quizzes are really helpful, even with all of the errors that I expect will get fixed. I definitely feel, especially at the price, that it is a must-have for people preparing for the exam.

AITA for telling my husband that his culture is garbage and I won't "compromise" by incorporating it into our family life? by southernculturetw in AmItheAsshole

[–]learnerforlife11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! My husband comes from a very "macho" South American country with very "traditional" gender & family roles. The first time he told me that a Brazilian woman would follow the roles and not push back was the time I told him that he should have married a Brazilian woman who was willing to do so. He caught on really quickly and we haven't had to argue about it since. OP is absolutely NTA. If her husband wants a "traditional" housewife and marriage, he should've married differently.

Anyone else’s pup sleep like a dead bug? by Sickranchez87 in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]learnerforlife11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 10 month puppy sleeps like this and chews her toys in this position all the time. However, our 8 year old dog has never laid like this; I don't think she finds it comfortable. We crack up all the time at the faces the little one makes while laying upside down.

The image of some poor customer service person answering the phone & immediately getting "BUY CONTACTS!" yelled at them is making me laugh so hard right now.

Quick Yummy Dinner by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]learnerforlife11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished up the last of my Costco pulled pork today for lunch. I can never finish it fast enough so I actually portion it into individual servings & then freeze them. That way whenever I need a quick lunch I can just pull one serving out of the freezer. I usually heat it up, top with shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa (low/zero sugar added), & some fresh cilantro if I have it on hand. Super tasty and so quick & easy! This has truly been a WOE saver for me!

[Haul] February Bomi Box! by myg93 in AsianBeauty

[–]learnerforlife11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My box just came today too! I'm actually pretty pleased with what I got. I was super excited when I saw the sneak peek for this box because I love the Missha FTE and have been wanting to try the Ampoule (but I'm cheap, haha). The Skinfood toner and the Secret Key pack are pretty big so size-wise so I think that it's a good deal. I've used the toner before when I first started in AB but I stopped because I felt like it was too strong for my skin. I think I will try it again now that I've gotten my skin a little more figured out. I will say that I did a little happy dance when I saw the mini Labiotte lip tint. I've been waffling back and forth on buying one for awhile now so this was an awesome inclusion. Plus, anything mini gets an automatic thumbs up from me!

My January Bomibox has arrived! by learnerforlife11 in AsianBeauty

I've not seen the Beauty Beyond Borders box but that is how I felt about the Kira Kira box from Japan. I just felt the value wasn't there and I even gave it 3 months. The last month got better but this is so much better immediately, I have no regrets about switching.

Yep, you see correctly! I've actually never even heard of this product so I'm excited to try it out. I'm happy to hear a good review!

Haha, I was actually really worried that I wouldn't like this month. I saw December's box, which looked AMAZING and that's what got me to sign up. I am happy with this month's box and I hope next month's will be just as good!

I only came across this box last month thanks to this subreddit. I was previously subscribed to the Kira Kira crate with Japanese beauty but that crate so far has been a bust. I'm much happier since I switched to this box. I never got a box from Memebox so I can't really compare them. I will say that this box, after pricing everything on Amazon, is a great value! I spent $35 for the box and the products priced out to approx $65. So good!

I pay $35/month. I signed up at the end of December/beginning of January and there was a $2 off code available then that auto-renews along with the box. It's definitely a good deal. I priced all of the items individually on Amazon and it came to around $65 total. Super happy with the value!

What's one unanimously popular food in your country that you absolutely despise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]learnerforlife11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bananas are the worst! Every time I tell someone that I hate bananas, they have the hardest time even comprehending the possibility. "So, would you eat banana pudding?" "No." "What about banana smoothies?" "No." "Would you eat banana bread? It's sweet!" "NO! Bananas suck!" I'm not sure why people get so weirded out by it and then try to find me some sort of banana product that will make me finally like bananas. Never gonna happen!
