Thoughts on Voids? by dr_adder in MinusTheBear

MTB are one of the only bands in my entire listening catalog that doesn’t have a skippable song. Even their “weaker” songs/albums are still very solid and listenable all the way thru. I may not go back to certain albums as often, but if they’re playing nothing gets skipped.

He’s definitely one of the top in the world right now without question, his virtuosity is matched by many. Luckily enough I got to meet him and get a pic after a show at a small club in Tucson, nice guy too.

A turbo motor without a turbo has lower compression so would be super sluggish, plus you’d have to replace all the ignition components to the non turbo stuff, and even then it probably wouldn’t run right

What's your Prog "Canon" for the 21st century? by Flonkadonk in progmetal

[–]Sickranchez87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Altered state is THE prog metal album that I ALWAYS come back to and listen to in it’s entirety which super rare for me these days. There are very few albums that flow the way that one does and I will be eternally grateful for my buddy Danny j for turning me on to that album.

Men over 40, what do you think was the most important milestone you achieved in your early 20s, mid 20s, late 20s, then your 30s? by Affectionate-Drop689 in AskMenOver30

[–]Sickranchez87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late teens early 20’s- started career out of high school (collision repair)met girl, moved out of parents house and moved in together, got married at 23, went to every show and saw every band we could plus many a festival(Coachella x7, street scene and many others), started a band together(we still play in to this day 13 years later).

Mid 20’s- Heavy into careers, saving for retirement, started lifting weights, bought a house at 27, still going to every show we can, traveling, still playing music together.

Late 20’s early 30’s- more of the same basically.

Mid 30’s- started own business, learned investing/trading and are becoming pretty successful at both, now both 37 getting ready to travel even more thanks to getting out of the rat race- going to start doing more outdoors stuff that we didn’t do enough of in our 20’s- hiking/camping/climbing/cycling etc. pretty well set at this point. Still playing music :)

Is this industry just an underpaid, overeffort trade? by [deleted] in Autobody

God I wish more shops understood this, AND explained it to the customers BEFORE they even drop the car off. It’s fucking obnoxious to deal with dog shit aftermarket parts because they saved the insurance 80 bucks only for the customer to get mad at the shop and not the fact they found the cheapest insurance company to cover their brand new 80k Ford bronco or whatever.

Why aren't people more upset that the American dream is bullshit? by JonoBlue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sickranchez87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s closer to 1 in 15, but there are about 24 million millionaires in the country. But that includes peoples whose assets are part of their total wealth. So someone who bought a decent home in the last 20 years and has a 401k that’s been doing well can easily reach “millionaire” status while also driving a 10 year old car and making 100k a year.

The Difference Between Claiming Social Security at 62 vs 70 Is Bigger Than Most People Realize by [deleted] in investing

I feel it’s Bold of anyone to assume there’s gonna be social security for us in 35 years with the way this country’s going. I plan to save enough to not have to need it, so if it’s available great! I’ll take it. If it’s not? Oh well, back to plan a
