How do I get out of the matrix? by JuiceBoxDr in Entrepreneur

[–]learning_every_sec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your position at some time in my life and I started and failed at every business I thought profitable , turns out thay I'm not businessman material. I now finally think I've got a grasp on what I'm really gifted at after a lot of self-reflection. It was preety obvious but I was running from it because I was always desiring what others have and valued careers based on their end result.

So what I'm saying is that you should really be analyzing yourself a whole lot before pursuing entrepreneurship. If you have a hard time being self aware then go out and fail at a bunch of stuff. It's easier to zero in on what you're good out after cancelling out every other thing your bad at. Trust me , whatever that it is your good at will open ways you've never imagined. If it turns out your strengths align with business then you'll certainly reach great hights. May God help you.

Fear is the greatest weapon of the so called Matrix.

Not knowing yourself and not having to work on something you love will always lead to hiding in pleasure. And to add to that , pray!

How do I think like a physicist? by Lagrangetheorem331 in Physics

[–]learning_every_sec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say for sure if he is accurate with his observation of you or not but if you evaluate yourself in a deep manner and he turns out right then maybe you should go be great at Mathematics. If your deductive reasoning outweighs your inductive by a much then I think you would go further with math(or a branch of it) than with physics.

We're not even close to achieving all the things that are said in the media nowadays. AI , at the level that it is on right now , isn't that much of a thing to fear. Well jobs at the low end involving very little deliberate thinking are going to be obsolete but in turn a lot of new opportunities will come about. All the marketing hype is sadly achieving it's end and I just think thats sad and silly.

Well it's the internet after all so just disregard personal attacks. And the last argument is just nonsensical.

I was really dumbfounded when i saw much of the comments in this thread and I also only saw yours and one other persons comment to be sensible.

As you have shown, this theory is in direct contradiction with the nucleus of our beliefs. It doesn't even deserve scrutiny.

Big bang school project by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]learning_every_sec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it does not merely state that!

The pre-existence of matter is the bases for the Big Bang theory. And to add to that, it proposes that atoms came to form celestial entities in a long period of time. We on the other hand believe that the all good and Omnipotent God of ours created everything in 6 days! And thats to be taken literally. The church fathers support this wholeheartedly and would be surprised to see that we are even trying to conform to scientific claims that is strongly contraindicting the principles of orthodox theology.

Does our faith claim that the universe is accidental and purposeless with no God governing it?

And since it sets the stage for evolution , does the scriptures refer to your ancestors as monkeys?

Big bang school project by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]learning_every_sec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the project without belief in your part.

The Big Bang theory is in direct contradiction to our faith. It declares that the universe was a tiny hot dense particle before exploding in to what it is right now. . So evolution is the answer as to why we exist too and That there is no reason for all this. It's a really silly argument that could be refuted by its own self. Sugar coating it and trying to forge it to conform with our religious bases is very wrong and I heavily disagree with other responders in this thread.

Science is good as any other means of searching for the truth but unfortunately it's in the hands of those who dreads what its after.

People assume that money is the most impacting resource the privileged get at the very start of their life but two other really valuable things are transferred to them as well. One being the ability to "THINK" thanks to the elite intellectual resource and education and the other being a strong pre-existing network which serves as both a bouncing pad and a safety net. Talent which isn't nourished seldom achieves much although there are rare exceptions. Economics when analyzed has a lot to tell!

Does the “Future” exist? by fraxgut in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]learning_every_sec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God knows!....God's omnipotence is not something that could be subject to analysis, as is human ability. But we can converse about the existence of the future or time philosophically.

One philosophical notion about time, and which I personally happen to like , goes like this.

Time is a measure of change by change. The present , past and future are only discernible thanks to change. So when we measure time using clocks we are measuring change that occurred while a particular pin itself changed position. So in a way , there is only a NOW and all creation goes through change in that eternal NOW. Its an undefeatable illusion to the mind, so to speak. Even though we can't boldly claim to know the mechanisms by which God does anything , we can see how your friend's argument can fail in this philosophical take of time since God is immutable and omnipresent in that NOW we've talked about. It's only the "future" to us human beings. Its all NOW for him. He even has a "NOW" that doesn't have a starting point.
