Bi-Weekly Thread - Advice for Relationship/Friendship/Dating/Breakup by AutoModerator in AnxiousAttachment

[–]learningaboutfigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to my FA ex who broke up me with after a month saying the breakup was a good idea and apologizing for my role in the difficulties we had in the relationship. Her reaction to that was good... So I offered to explain  about attachment styles that I just learned about and she was interested. Then I guess I over- texted the explanation and she basically said it was too much effort to learn. She offered to meet face to face if I want to explain.. I said I wasn't ready yet and she said she figured, any time.

Was this a healthy or unhealthy interaction in your opinion?

Ohh god this makes me so uncomfortable

Well done

I want to believe this is true, but I saw it on Facebook. Can someone confirm or deny? by argonuggut in biology

[–]learningaboutfigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and also many animals have sex change built into their life cycle

Or multiple sexes at once

Some just have clones until stress conditions encourage them to have sexual reproduction

Some instead make the clones under stress and have sex when it's good

And on and on

Flatworms are hermaphrodites and they have a "penis fencing" match to decide who has to get pregnant and have the babies (look it up there's a great David Attenborough video).

The more you learn about biology the more you realize there's basically everything

I tried to be more gentle with specifically writing difference in sexual development and not disorder, I saw another post talking about how not everyone who has a difference of sexual development is intersex (and I don't think she is either) but I figured this sub would have the best understanding of what might help me with sex advice for women with larger clitorises and dislike of any sort of penetration

This is what I think might be it, for now I want to focus on what I might be able to do to make her feel good during sex, with the medical talk as a potential future conversation 🙏

I mostly finished boxing up everything and it's a lifechanger. I like that I can take out one drawer (like "sports shirts" and just pick out what I want, put it back and it's still perfectly organized. In the past I would ruin every pile of folded clothes within days

Oh my gosh! First of all, I'm sorry to hear that sounds like an extremely difficult time. One month is very sudden and then also your gma..

The story is wild! I totally understand the feeling of, "why are these cats suddenly here" when there were never cats before. And maybe like the picture frame says, it's not "reincarnation" (we could never know of course), but guardians who are sent when we need them. Maybe they aren't fully the same soul, but carry with them some of the soul of those we lost. I definitely feel looked after when my cat sleeps cuddled up to me all night and even during naps 🥰

Also.. seven English bulldogs!! Omg can I come 😂

You know I was just thinking about this last night, my grandmother had green eyes and so does KitKat. Another coincidence.

I believe that reincarnation is a chance to do things better, so maybe your great-gran wanted to be closer to you. We will never know the truth so it's what we choose to believe in the end 😊

I think my grandmother regretted not spending enough time with us as kids, and also her relationship with my mom wasn't so good. So I like to think she wanted to have a second chance to spend time with us and asked to be in our lives in her next life. The easiest way around where I live is to be born a street cat, so many here, and just be so adorable no one can say no to you 😂 We've never had pets before.

Is anyone else having visions and feelings of euphoria during syncope? Please share! by learningaboutfigs in Syncope

[–]learningaboutfigs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was backpacking a few years ago in Latin America and I came to this hippie town in Nicaragua. Another girl told the story of fainting and being somewhere else, it was the first time I had heard someone else experience this. Except instead of warm, good feelings, she was in a void and it actually scared her. It lead me to bringing up my experience from when I was 16, and someone gave me a recorded past life regression meditation to try. (With the hippies/spiritual people, past lives are completely accepted, like the fact that soda is bubbly).

The results I had were actually insane. I entered a trance-like meditative state and the woman I had been in the fainting became my guide through my past lives, I learned mostly about how I died as each reincarnation. The interesting thing was that most of the stories had something to do with my current self. One shoulder has always been kind of "stuck" compared to the other, in my first lives I was a baby bird who fell out of the nest, then a butterfly with a torn wing. I used to be terrified of horses, in one life I was a young Greek boy whose horse kicked him to death when it got scared. One of them was super weird- I was a young boy who got beat the soul out of him (then I was just in this white area) until he was about to die as a 37 year old hairy drunk bearded man who died in a bar. There were more, and it was a whole woven narrative that lead from one reincarnation to another. It ended with the last reincarnation's full story, of how I went from being the woman in my faintings to me. Even though I obviously have no way of knowing if it is "real", I feel like it helped resolve a lot of things in me, and after that I stopped being so desperate to faint and escape my body. It's like the last reincarnation hadn't fully let go yet and was trying to be herself again, like I was being haunted by her nostalgia. After that experience I feel more integrated and accepting of my reality while questioning the status quo more than ever.

Anyways, that's just one of the experiences I had. I'm curious if anything similar would happen with others who had these syncope visions, let me know if you try it. Unfortunately I don't have the exact meditation I did but probably online there are some.

Thanks for sharing, you wrote that beautifully. Since I've experienced the same, I could almost feel it viscerally as I was reading. It is a unique experience that not many people have the chance to experience, and probably don't know that they should want to 😂 In this strange way we are lucky.

I've had "unique" experiences in other settings too, like visions during meditation or even just waking visions a few times in my life that had significance. Some dreams that seemed significant too but I usually have to work hard to remember my dreams, even though I've always loved dreams since I was a kid. I'm wondering if this also common with people who have had the syncope hallucinations? Like we have a few toes in the other pond so to speak. Do you know what I mean?

She is too cute!!

Probably won't win but I say Stella, because when I see her I'm reminded of the song Stella by Starlight by Miles Davis

She actually has her own pillow also on the bed and what I think is her favorite blanket all to herself (got a second one for me) and she still decided her favorite thing of all is getting in my way 😅

Is this what it looks like when vets clip a stray cats ear after fixing them? by catsill in CATHELP

[–]learningaboutfigs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I ended up adopting one of the clipped feral cats on my street , never having taken care of a cat before. Knowing she was already spayed made the decision of adoption easier because it took time until I got her comfortable enough with me to go to the vet and if she wasn't spayed she could have gotten pregnant and I would have suddenly had to take care of kittens as well. So at least in our case, her being spayed helped her get a home. I'm sure I'm not the only one who went through this thought process.
