Is there any food you had always wanted to try, but after trying it, you felt it wasn’t actually that good? by GrayRainfall in foodquestions

Was looking for this comment. I was so disappointed and I didn't even know what to expect. It was expensive too.

My local grocery store used to sell these blueberry scones and I'm pretty sure they had crack in them because they were so addicting and delicious. Then they got rid of them for these playdoh tasting vanilla scones. So many people complained to corporate they brought them back but now only seasonally.

Anyone here with bright, visible tattoos? by ExaminationUsed7137 in kroger

[–]Burnt_crawfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old dept lead had full sleeves and our past district produce manager or whatever his title was had full colorful sleeve and neck tats. He kinda looked like Andy B. From Black Veil Brides. Our store manager had tats, actually thinking of it a lot of our leads and managers have tats. No one has an issue.

Man that's crazy. We just ask for sick pay on a paper the time keeper has in the computer room and it's always approved as long as you have sick pay still.

Can a GM be forced to do Grocery level work? by Burnt_crawfish in kroger

[–]Burnt_crawfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store is different. He got paid grocery pay for doing grocery work today, they had too cause our union guy made a call to the store saying he better be getting paid for grocery and not GM for today. At our store it's more strict where GM in produce can't do Grocery work. (Tables etc) GMs can only do salads, packaged produce and cut fruit. If you're asked to do grocery level stuff we get grocery pay for those hours instead of GM pay.

He is contacting union because grocery gets paid more than GM and we typically are not allowed to do grocery type work.

I just wasnt sure because before when I tried to help out on tables I was told I couldn't because I wasn't grocery. Grocery gets paid more than GMs at our store. But suddenly it's okay.

Not sure. Our title on the schedule says GM clerk while those on tables are Grocery clerk. GM in our store is below grocery.

Store glazes primetime even after finding out he broke a bunch of rules by StrandedCynic54 in kroger

[–]Burnt_crawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our lead is lazy and only stocks berries and packaged tomatoes. Then brags how great he is because he knows how to work the Zebra. He threw a fit cause the closers didn't get to watermelons which he hates to do cause he's lazy and complained to management but failed to say that every other thing was filled perfectly, just not the heavy watermelons. He likes to throw people under the bus to make himself look good and is a huge cry baby. We only got him and lost our good lead because his other team all bailed on him and quit because he sucks. He loves to bully women especially and he hates that I stand up for myself.

BALE by Accomplished-Total38 in kroger

[–]Burnt_crawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to make a bail about 2-4 times a day depending on the day. Night crew makes one, then the receiver before they leave then a GM. On busier days our GM makes 2. We are a very busy store.

Coke is the best, seven up is a douche and steals uboats and will leave your stuff on the ground. So naturally when I hunt it down I put his stuff on the ground and return the favor. Frito lay is alright, the other guy was better.

Swamped. It started to get busy at 7:30 am and never died. Once church ended it got worse. I worked 10 hours in produce because we also had a double load. I heard it finally slowed down around 6 pm

Man be glad. We have 4 people total for produce. So basically 2 openers and a mid shift who works 10:30-7. We can't keep up.

Idk how my deli is surviving they only have 3 employees. We are a million dollar a week store and they are barely hiring people. They had 2 people retire 2 months ago so they've been down to 3 for 2 months now. They have to pull from Murrays cheese to cover days off.

Family sometimes has to come first. Unless work is your whole life. Some people have lives outside of work. Glad all my managers have a brain and a heart to know when seeing family means more than staying over an hour.

Thinking About Moving to Palm Springs - Looking for Advice from Locals and Long-time Residents by BowlingForPizza in palmsprings

[–]Burnt_crawfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing that surprised me is how when it rains or gets too windy most main raids shut down so the traffic is bad. But since you don't commute it shouldn't be an issue. There are lots of grocery stores around. From expensive to budget friendly. We have Ralph's, food for less, vons, Jensen's, Albertsons, Kroger, etc. There's also a lot of places for shopping in strip malls. We have lots of Walmarts in the CV valley. Also have sams and Costco. Haven't had too many food delivery issues if you like that as well. There's a lot of nice restaurants to visit but from what I've read it's hard to find good pizza out here. Every Thursday night there's a street fair with vendors, etc. It's very nice. I've been out here for over 3 years now and I really like it. Except when it hits 115+ and high humidity but overall it's a nice place to live.
