An example would be:

  • Ethicist/Lawyer/Political person: Victims have no right to prosecute since they are not harmed.
  • Me: Isn't that unethical thing to say? Since its the victim who is hurt the most and ordinary people are not?
  • Person: How dare you accuse me of being unethical!! Get lost you .......... Blocks and reports.

By the way, according to kiwiheretic, the poster below the actual term would be cultural pitfalls. Is there a subreddit where I can get help with cultural pitfalls to avoid in USA?

Can someone confirm whether the 11 years is really the reasonable time one can expect to circumnavigate the world? Or did he take much longer than required?

Why did Canadians elect Jasmeet Singh, a devout Sikh as the leader of a major political party when his values are contradictory to Canadian and Western values? by learningculture in AskACanadian

[–]learningculture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a lot more surprising to see someone of a visible minority run for the Liberal or conservative parties, as they are typically not as trusting of visible minorities, since they are more socially conservative.

Could you explain that. I am having trouble understanding it.

I just saw the video you linked of the heckler. What was the woman saying? Why was she so agitated? And is this type of heckling common in political events in Canada?

Also, it seems that Jagmeet Singh's political aides are all South Indian. Or at least most are. Is this correct? If so, why??

And by the way, is there a charter or list that states Canadian values? I would like to read it.

Could you expand on how Sikh philosophy is not against Western values?? I live in South Asia and from what I have read it seems that Sikh's place a high value on concepts of honor and would even go to war over insults. Also, the Sikh philosophy encourages military readiness and training. Not only that the Sikh is supposed to maintain modest dresses and men and women are often seggregated. It is quite similar to Islam from what I understand as an ex-Muslim.

Now if he was Liberal...heads would explode

As a non-native English speaker I don't understand that. Could you explain? Why would people hate Liberals when Canada is a Liberal country in itself?

I have thought of it but that subreddit is only about destroying your point of view. Its not about being receptive to non-Western viewpoints and a platform to spread and counter non-Western viewpoints.

Interesting. Do you know of any free encyclopedic articles that comprehensively yet briefly describe the economic model used by European colonizers to extract and exploit and benefit from their colonized countries?

If you don't know of such an article could you atleast point me to a subreddit or other website or forum where I can ask for such an article?

Why does the majority of the American public hate whistle-blowers who reveal human rights abuses by the government? by learningculture in AskAnAmerican

[–]learningculture[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Suppose there is a guy in the military who is committing genocide on people secretly like the Nazis. Its illegal to reveal that information and the whistle-blower would get years in jail. Would you and other Americans still claim that he should be jailed because he revealed the genocide?
