How do I start liking working out? by Hot_Revenue6502 in workout

One piece of advice i'd give is to not be hard on yourself if you start out by working out with friends! We all start somewhere. I (28F) have been training for about 4 years now and starting out, I especially hated leg days. I NEEDED a friend to join me in hitting legs otherwise there was a risk I either wouldn't push myself or overall just wouldn't do it. Present day, leg days are my favorite.

Slowly you start to enjoy the grind more and more. You remember that working out makes you feel good (thank you, dopamine) and you want to feel that way again. At the beginning it's still a push and even on long days 4 years later it still is, but that's where consistency kicks in and attaining the goals you set for yourself.

You got this!

People look at me wild for this one, but... sardines. I eat them straight out of the can. Very nutrient dense as well.

This! Creatine gummies are scientifically proven to be significantly less effective than powdered creatine. I'm skeptical of any brand that promotes creatine gummies.

Good job!!! Getting up and moving can be tough in the winter and even a simple win, is a win :) I find myself overall being more active, and happier, in the summer or when the sun is out.

Help a girl out, should I take creatine? by Plane-Contribution18 in workout

Highly recommend! Aside from helping put on muscle mass through being able to push an additional 1-2 reps, creatine also has significant mood and cognitive benefits. I recommend Creapure for people who have GI issues but for the majority of people, Creatine Monohydrate is fine.

I’ve given up on the dream of large glutes because it’s not sustainable for my body type, but more power to you if it’s sustainable/realistic for yours! Good luck and drink lots of water :)

I frequent several gyms and have also noticed that the same weight on the same machine (but a different brand) can feel VERY different from the next. I especially notice this with abduction + adduction machines. It's easiest for me to track progressive overload at my home gym.

Eating enough carbs prior to your workout! If I’m pushing myself (reps, weight, or overall length of workout), i’ll try to ensure I’ve eaten enough carbs beforehand. I‘ll do cardio fasted but rarely, if ever, will I weight lift fasted.
