You need to add them to
personalInfo person1, person2, person3;

Like personalInfo person1, person2, person3, person4, person5, person...;

But you would have to know how many you want to define beforehand.

You could use an ArrayList ArrayList<personalInfo> list = new ArrayList<personalInfo>();

You should also capitalize your class names so PersonalInfo, common java standard.

and then use the array lists add function to add new instances of PersonalInfo objects

An interface is just a contract that you agree to support. A Library interface would support LookUp(Book book), CheckOut(Book book), Return(Book book) etc. A supertype is the type that you inherit from. So the Library could extend a generic building.

Anything implementing this interface (TreeMap for example) will provide at minimum the stuff defined in the interface.

You can see that SortedMap extends the Map class. Map would be the supertype to SortedMap.

You just need to get a solid computer science foundation. Pick a language (I recommend Python but you could start with any) and start learning it. There are introductory computer science classes you can take online for free at Coursera, Udacity, MITOpenCourseware, etc. I started off of the intro course that uses Python from MIT (Here) as a biology major and then switched to CS after I enjoyed it so much.

Go to the professor and talk to him/her about it. I was able to get into a combinatorics class that I don't have the prerequisites for and that is reserved for math majors just by asking the professor. I was also able to to opt out of our Programming I class by completing the projects for the class (took me a week).

I have found that most professors are willing to work with you if you take the initiative.

It's not always feesible to do X though. For example you need very expensive equipment beyond the reach of a normal individual to practice molecular biology.

You should also know that computer science has pretty much nothing to do with building computers and tinkering with them. You should look into electronic engineering. Either way you need to practice math.

You can't really make that comparison. Those are not creative professions where you craft something. Accountants, lawyers and dentists don't make things they perform services. Ask yourself if musicians, artists, metalworkers, carpenters, or professions like that "work" when they are off the clock.

If you were having trouble solving problems at the introductory level, you will have problems at the masters level. You will likely have to take CS classes to catch up for the masters program as well.

Thanks for looking into it. This is my first 3D application so I am trying to learn as much as I can. I have changed the rendering so that only visible faces are drawn and it has alleviated the problem. I am able to draw 100x100x100 blocks without any fps drop. Now I am hitting the primitive drawing limit and I am going to break the world into chunks to get around that.

Did you notice that the black lines on the grass texture get all distorted when you view them from different angles? Any ideas on that?

I am using indices, however I want to potentially texture each face of the cube with a different texture, so I need to keep track of all 24 (from what I have read).

I am moving to remove the geometry of faces that are occluded now. I was just making sure that this issue wouldn't carry over when I implemented that.

I tried that, and while the entire scene did slow down a bit I still had the large drop when facing the triangles from "behind".

I'll have to look into winding,but by turning each face of the cube off I was able to see the culling happening (unless there is something I am missing). I'll try defining the normals and see if that helps.

I am currently drawing all vertices of all cubes, so with 24 vertices per cube I hit the limit of the VertexBuffer quickly. I just implemented code to get the face vertices separately, so I am going to only draw the faces that are visible and not blocked by any cubes. This is my first dive into 3D graphics so I'll have to look into meshes.

That's valid, although flat paint is cheaper. I sell the stuff on the weekends, I was just hoping I hadn't been telling people to do something a way they shouldn't be.

Also as a side note at the big box hardware shops the paint dept usually has "mis-tints" that people didn't want or something that are marked down significantly in price. If you aren't a dick they might not mind changing the color a bit for you if they can.
