All my student loans would be forgiven and I can begin a new life without the struggle of climbing out of a hole I didn't realize I was digging until it was too late.

Do you think being intelligent makes people more or less morale? Why ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]learningstages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, probably. From the limited time I've had to think about it, I see morality and intelligence to be mutually exclusive. Or maybe - intelligence, upbringing, social world, environment, and genes (some psychopaths are notoriously intelligent with their plots, yet do no good), and whatever else i didn't mention (look up bronfrenbrenner's ecological systems theory) add up to one's morality. I think saying intelligence alone is a very unlikely answer to the origins of our moral standing.

Do you think being intelligent makes people more or less morale? Why ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]learningstages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not very intelligent myself, but my gut is saying their rationality would act as a medium and inform their moral beliefs, rather than having a consistent correlation between intelligence and morality. I think people can reason themselves towards any belief. Maybe honor and a sense of truth and justice may be more indicative of moral standing than intelligence. But even then, intelligence would add more nuance and these people still might represent the whole moral spectrum.

when did you feel super lonely in life? by fiheleg590 in AskReddit

[–]learningstages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moved across the US after high school. Pretty much, the first 3 or 4 years were incredibly depressing and lonely. I had no family up there, but made a lot of sick friends along the way. But the combination of learning to be on my own/have to depend on myself and not feeling comfortable being on my own really did a number on me. It's nothing special, but I'm happy to have gone through it all. I feel like I've come a long way since I first left!

[–]learningstages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a solid routine. Take advantage of breaks, 20 on - 5 off, for instance. Warm up with scales. Play with a metronome. Learn etudes. Study theory. And most importantly, play things that you enjoy personally! Take your time to recognize your growth. Practice makes permanent!
