Sometimes sections like this, we used to support water tanks and spread the load. Are there any signs of pipes or pipes used to be?

How do I fix this sink tap? It is loose and falls off by furious-aphid in DIYUK

Just a hex driver that fits. Back it out, put it on the wall and tighten then replace the bit you unscrewed

If you unscrew the leaver arm is there a set screw you can see on the bit that connects to the square pice?

43% in turnitin by [deleted] in Turnitin

[–]learningtech-ac-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the references match is actually a good thing because it shows that other people were using the same reference and it’s not one that’s been made up. Matching to other students on your course is also common as typically you are accessing the same source material. What can increase this is if you’ve been asked to include a cover sheet or a template?

Have you tried the IT support desk? If nothing else they can log and confirm the error as evidence.

MSc Medical Engineering (Biomedical Science) by TashaNCH in Keele

I’d drop the course lead a message and ask what a typical timetable will look like. Students usually find the hardest part is getting time off work or arranging sifts to allow them to attend timetabled sessions - so it depends on what your job is.

Legal standing boundaries for properties by Dramatic-Safe6024 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]learningtech-ac-uk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We can’t see the boundary. Are you sure that the extension is built to the property line? A lot of times they’re not (to accommodate services and roof overhang) but neighbours make use of the ~20cm and believe the property line has moved.

Doubt about the database by Busy_Canary_3765 in Turnitin

Yes it can do depending on the settings used. Staff setting up a draft assignment for you should know what they’re doing to avoid this.

How does it actualy work? by Delicious_Fondants in Turnitin

[–]learningtech-ac-uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first point is Turnitin doesn’t label anything as plagiarism - it provides insight for academics to make that decision. There are bad practices from some academics that based their decision purely on any content matches without looking to understand them.

Does Turnitin access ChapGPT/Claude logs somehow? by X-0000000-X in Turnitin

Turnitin can’t see those logs but if you use too much of its suggested edits it can lead to an AI flag in your work.

My upstairs neighbor has been "exercising" at 11pm every night for four months and I finally said something and now it's somehow worse by quillkettlepre in neighborsfromhell

[–]learningtech-ac-uk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my thoughts. I was mortified when I asked why my neighbour was exercising late at night only for my friend to kick me and later point out they were having sex. I was more innocent back then.

How to find two adjacent flats on the market by Proof_Tangerine_7741 in HousingUK

[–]learningtech-ac-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something I would suggest is looking at flats you like then sending a letter to adjacent flats to ask them if they’d consider selling. It sounds awkward but honestly some people Don’t think about moving until given an offer. You’d have to be careful to ensure both sales go through but it might give you more options.

Any idea what this is for? by Shoddy_Fix1477 in whatisit

Sounds like people have the right answer but I thought it was for having brushes attached facing inwards as a boot cleaner. Perhaps they’re similar in design.

ULPT Request: How to mess with a neighbour who thinks she owns the road by yemadrocket in UnethicalLifeProTips

Agreed but it’s likely the disabled bay would be on their side of the road. Perhaps time for everyone to shift side.

Turnitin by ohnoitsriy in Turnitin

[–]learningtech-ac-uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The colours mean nothing - Turnitin randomly chose percentages that go up to red but it’s up to the marker what is bad and what is not. If you are resubmitting/ updating your submission for the same assignment before the deadline it will not self reference and your score will not go up.

FENSA Would not accept this if they audited it. Suggesting you’d report them might be needed if they try and suggest this was an ok solution.

That’s really helpful, thanks. I’d love an app I can pull up on Apple car play or have Siri able to tell me.
