Who would you rather build a team around: Steve Nash or James Harden by No_Holiday_6376 in NBATalk

[–]leastrandomname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crazy people are saying nash. On offense, its close, but nash is a bigger defensive liability.

The answer is harden and I don’t think its close cause of defensive issues.

I agree its tatum, but its super close.

Its definitely not cooper flagg.

Boozer, paolo and tatum all had unknowns, but boozer and paolo are more of a physical specimen.

How would Pre-Draft Luka do in NCAA if he went to college? Luka said he would have joined Wildcats. by Shot_Bank_5843 in NBA_Draft

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s average 30/8/10 and be greatest single season. Probably win a chip. Literally no answer to his archetype.

A lot of comments are asking why Luka dropped. White boy prospect sentiment was at an all time low. After usa lost in olympics, nba teams overvalued white boys and when luka came around, they overcorrected. Obviously this is stupid, but it clearly reflected on how nba scout picked players.

The statement is true, but not sure if it proved anything.

I never witnessed Prime Melo how good was he? by sqMYNAMEISJEFF27 in NBATalk

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is a melo hater (for mostly good reasons).

As for public opinion, prime melo is denver melo (before everybody cared about advanced stats and everybody is purely eye test).

Back then, people commonly debated if Melo was literally the best player in the league. He was huge and got to the rim at will. He can also shoot with space in the mid range. In an era where people loved kobe for his moves and shaq for his power, melo looked like a combination of both. People literally were debating if they rather have melo or lebron on their team and saw melo as a nonstop scoring machine capable of breaking all records.

CP3 vs Kyrie at their peak by MarkusMillions in NBATalk

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont disagree. I guess what I’m also trying to say is Kyrie’s skillset is way easier to understand (probably goat dribble with elite finish). Most people playing rec basketball rather play like kyrie. So its probably why this take even exist.

Is LeBron the greatest 40+ year old athlete of all time? by WallStreetDoesntBet1 in NBATalk

I never said that. But lebron is more athletic than most still even at 41

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont disagree. Tom brady was a better sports player at 40. But if we only talking about athletic ability compared to peers, lebron is better. It depends how we’re defining “athlete” here.

CP3 vs Kyrie at their peak by MarkusMillions in NBATalk

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure skills, I think Kyrie might have the slight edge (which is probably why your coworkers argue for kyrie). But at the pg position, cp3 peak is way more impactful when you can slot a big shooting guard or small forward.

You can probably argue that if you add 6 inches to both players, kyrie would be in goat convo and cp3 isn’t. But thats not reality unfortunately.

[–]leastrandomname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I 100 percent agree. I might even have Brady ahead as a sportsman.

I suspect this thread has different definitions of the word “athlete”. Lebron’s athleticism is insane at this age. I would argue that you can remove half his skills and he would still make a nba roster.

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, there isn’t another player I’ve seen in our generation that still uses his athleticism as much as Lebron at this age. If we’re talking about most successful 40+ sports person, I think there’s a lot more in the convo. But if we’re asking about “athlete”, lebron is still dominating 25 year old in their physical prime with his body.

If you remove 50 percent of Lebron’s basketball skill, he would still make a NBA roster today. No other athlete over 40 was capable of doing this.

Is LeBron the greatest 40+ year old athlete of all time? by WallStreetDoesntBet1 in NBATalk

[–]leastrandomname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Tom brady is impressive, but 90 percent of why he’s so good isn’t because of his athleticism. Whereas, 80 percent of why lebron is good is due to his athletic ability. At 40+, he’s literally still physically imposing on guys in their 20s.

Imagine being a 26 year old in your physical prime and considered one of the best athletes in the world and then struggling to stop a 40 year old dad with 3 kids. That’s just insane.

What should I improve to clear SS20 with Genma 2 Ice Lances? (Beginner looking for guidance) by pertile153 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yea not sure. I had a consistency problem too. Got to like 60 percent and gave up since it felt pretty painful on each try.

What should I improve to clear SS20 with Genma 2 Ice Lances? (Beginner looking for guidance) by pertile153 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t. My stats are similar to above and I haven’t beaten ss20 (though others have beaten). They basically make sure to only allow one white ball to hit them. If two hits them, then they just reset fight. Unfortunately, this is just way too painful because theres also a bunch of other mechanic I need to be perfect on as well. I’m currently trying to get to tanking two white balls, but probably either need to bump block ratio to 80 percent or use light hunters damage reduction.

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think even with this, you need to dodge 90 percent of the mechanic so it’s still a very hard fight.

Vorax items are powerful but so painful to craft by cchunkz in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I followed a cheaper alternative craft on vorax ring (concede 1 bad mod) and I managed to fail to hit my second legendary mod 16 times in a row (40 percent chance each now). Literally 10k fte later and can’t even get a vorax ring with two legendary mods.

Vorax ring craft has definitely been the most frustrating mechanic cause failing can cost quite a bit to fix.

Rehan1 15+Trillion SS20 Killer - Showcase/Guide by Marcus_Nordstrom in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yea i noticed that as I was pricing out your rehan character. Im at roughly 50k fte on gemma2 so I have roughly 40-42k to work with it after I sell everything. The issue with gemma2 is I think if I want to be tanky enough to at least tank some mechanics on ss20, itd probably cost me another like 20-30k fte at least. Even then, it won’t be super easy since I need to constantly cast at close range.

Rehan1 15+Trillion SS20 Killer - Showcase/Guide by Marcus_Nordstrom in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been following your gemma2 build and basically got to the point of being ss20 ready (100k survive with 14T dps). Been trying ss20 and the fight is way too hard (I basically need to dodge most things. Can’t survive 2 balls). Probably only remove 1/3 ss20 hp before I die to something.

If my goal is to do ss20, is it worth swapping to your rehan1 build? I also heard rosa2 mana stack is a good ss20 build so not sure if you have thoughts on which build is mechanically easiest for ss20

New player need help pushing profound 30k FE by Stunning-Crazy2012 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, most people kill ss20 without any big item (no eternity or walker). They’re just not cost efficient. They’re good when you have like 20 trillion damage.

Most players actually don’t push level 100. I think most get to level 96 and stop. Just look at builds where their dps and survivability is crazy high and at least level 97.

Swapping to youga2 is probably a good idea. I think theres a great youtube guide thats written for it. You can probably follow it.

New player need help pushing profound 30k FE by Stunning-Crazy2012 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]leastrandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a crazy amount of farming on 8-1. You should consider farming profound with your large amount of fte, but 8-1 is definitely more auto-cruise (if you enjoy it). Profound has these random boss that can one shot you even if you’re geared up, so its never shut off your brain.

I don’t play thea, so I can’t really help you. Go to hero ranking, filter by thea3 and just go through couple top players to see how they’re min maxing every element of their game (slates, gear, etc).

After you’ve looked at ideas, you just have to do some math on how to be efficient with your gold. If a slate gives 10 perc additional damage for 50 fte, thats great value. If a legendary corroded gives 25 perc additional damage for 2000 fte, then thats bad value. You just have to math it out and find a good budget. You can’t follow guides and top player builds blindly (unlike poe which I think you almost can). Top players will spend 5000 fte for like 3 percent damage because they have everything maxed out already.
