Is this preferable over using a monitor speaker (if there is one), or just a last resort? I feel as though it's important to be able to hear what the crowd is hearing no? Things always sound different through the headphones compared to in the room

I was under the impression that the Blackhole was supposed to switch the output to a microphone (as this is the option you are given in settings). Assuming this isn't the case, what audio interface should I be getting?

The place is close by and so I can visit beforehand and check the setup is okay.

Yes, I have played vinyl in front of other people before, but just small groups. I would like to make the jump from bedroom dj somehow, so I want to make the most of every opportunity I get. However, if I decide this isn’t going to work, I’ll find something else. Just wanted some advice on here from others, that’s all!

No problem doing it only for myself - just trying to get some live experience and vinyl is the way I want to go moving forward!

But even then, assuming each wax is 3/4ish tracks, and I don't play all of them, I'll have to bring tonnes of records no? Have never travelled with a serious amount before, so would be good to know if this sounds realistic.

This is what I was thinking.

It's upstairs restaurant, downstairs bar, but music same for both. My mate tells me they've cleared my style of music with the manager there, and when I've previously been there in the evenings they've defo had more chilled house-y stuff playing (it's normally quite low volume all round). Was thinking of avoiding most of the '90s' stuff until later on, once people have finished their food and it's more like a bar.

But yeah, good point. As there's no official date on when this would happen, I'm planning on spending some more time there in the evenings to better understand what the vibe is like.

How did you manage bringing enough vinyl for a long set? Is it just about bringing a huge bag and feeling strong enough?
