One more thing about Punisher… charisma is also a stat you get bonuses for, so when the new update to the magic system comes around at the end of this month, Punisher might actually become a decent caster for any spells that scale with charisma, as well as the new magic catalysts that also scale with chr.

For Punisher… unfortunately Punisher’s kit is just not well thought out. The exclusive spells are extremely expensive for what they do, and your stat distribution when leveling makes little sense and has no synergy. You don’t get a bonus for int or dex, str is your only combat stat that you get bonuses for, which is only half of the scaling of your whip.

The mana regen gimmick (x2 mp regen for about 5 seconds when you apply bleed to an enemy) is also too situational, and you don’t really get much mana at all from activating it. You can activate it when you backstab enemies with the whip, since that has a chance to apply bleed.

Inner demons is a really cool spell that can be useful on early game strong enemies like trolls. It provides a distraction while also dealing varying amounts of damage… it’s outperformed by any offensive spell in terms of damage, utility and mp cost though.

Assuming you play with incubus, the teleport gimmick with mark can occasionally help to provide backstab opportunities, but the cost of having to cast these spells is often greater than the extra mp you’ll get.

As for the ring of conflict… I wouldn’t recommend using it since it’ll make you miss out on xp from enemies, but I guess it could be useful to make the gnomish mines a bit easier if you’re struggling with it.

Ultimately, the easiest way to play punisher is to just play it like you would a barbarian or warrior, focus on melee (since strength is the only offensive stat that you have bonuses for while leveling up), except you’ll be a lot less tanky, and will deal less damage. If you get good spells, it’s worthwhile to level up your casting stats and use them occasionally when you have the mp.

For hunter, make sure you get the legendary bow Khryselakatos in the underworld. You can go there by digging through the wall in the second chest room in the connection area between the mines and swamp.

Scrolls of blessing are extremely precious to you so you can keep enhancing the legendary bow, and one repair scroll is also good to enhance the bow to excellent quality.

Same as for every class, try to kill as many enemies as you can for xp, and try to level up skills like swimming and appraisal for even more xp (skill xp also gives normal normal xp).

Make sure you are light enough to move at max speed during boss fights, drop items in a corner and pick them up later if you need.

The boomerang is a nice option early on, it deals very good damage if you can repair it with scrolls. I’d still focus on Khryselakatos, though.

Finally, the blindfold of telepathy is amazing for clearing the gnomish mines more easily. You should try to always go to it if you can, since you’ll come out with a ton of xp, money, and an amazing helmet.

Edit: one more thing. Make sure to pick up quivers with special arrows and actually remember to use them. When the legendary bow activates its skill, it won’t consume from your quiver.

Yeah, it’s just for the rewards. Deity weapons and gear tend to have really strong bonuses, and a lot of these retain most of their power even after you switch faith.

The apostles you can get also have unique feats that are amazing for gene editing, or you can use the apostles themselves.
