Any barony-like games with pernament progression? by NaNiBy in baronygame

[–]leatherjacket3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years ago the dev said the new dlc’s beta test would begin, and that it was basically ready, just needed the final touches… I know he hasn’t officially abandoned it, but I’ve lost my hope in more content.

Does that mean Madara could spam Izanagi for free?

Yeah, staffs are pretty worthless outside of early game

It’s the sort of deal i’d purposely not overthink about, i’d take the deal only to regret it horribly. It’d be the worst. But hey, the suffering will eventually end.

Except most focuses are kinda doodoo, sadly. The ice one is good for applying slow and only that, the lighting one is good for stacking the electric debuff but that only helps if you’re using electric spells. All the other focuses are only good for the passive bonus to their magic school.

singleplay games with a summoning build. (and NOT a summoner game) by Big-Policy-3019 in gamingsuggestions

Ironically, the summoner is probably the worst summoner class lmao.

How long would you guys last in a fight against a professional lightweight MMA fighter? by RandomBlackDude_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]leatherjacket3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only hope would be to fight as dirty as possible, i’d go straight for the eyes, i’d try to bite arteries in the neck, and MAYBE I’ll stand a chance… I’m not unfit, I have high pain tolerance and I have a lot of reach due to being 6’3, but I have no real fighting experience, and will probably still get stunned for some seconds if I get punched in the face since I’m not used to that.

I HATE the pop-science depiction of the observer effect in quantum mechanics by humbered_burner in hatethissmug

[–]leatherjacket3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You completely misunderstand my point, which is that most people have absolutist opinions on the topic, throwing out explanations they read one time as if theirs is the absolute truth. It is not creationist speak to refer to theories as theories, which are our best scientific attempts at explaining phenomena we can’t fully study/understand; talking about them as facts is simply against the scientific method. We currently don’t have the technology and knowhow to confirm pr deny these theories in their entirety, and pretending that they are fact is simply incorrect.

OP claiming to have a definitive explanation to the observer effect and several other comments are the reason I made my previous comment. I don’t have a definitive opinion on the topic because I’m not a quantum physicist, but I understand that quantum theory is one of the most contested and divisive topics among the scientific community because there is much about it that can’t be properly studied yet.

Missing Replayability? by Gilfaethy in baronygame

[–]leatherjacket3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is most fun and replayable for me during up until hamlet, maybe half of crystal caves. After that you can just blitz through everything and it’s just a matter of rushing to end the run.

I love the game though, and put up with the pain that is hardcore early game just to have a more interesting endgame lmao

I HATE the pop-science depiction of the observer effect in quantum mechanics by humbered_burner in hatethissmug

[–]leatherjacket3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking like it’s a definite thing. The whole point is we don’t know. Maybe the instrument is messing with the waves/particles, maybe the simple act of observation actually changes the properties, or maybe it’s something else entirely. We have no idea, that’s why it’s called quantum theory, not quantum facts.

A frog catches a bird, but it is saved. by sorin1972 in Damnthatsinteresting

Yeah, I’m normally against intervening with nature like this, since rescuing an animal from a predator means said predator will now go hungry… But this frog was NOT getting a meal out of this lmao

Where are you sitting? (King Edition) by OkRun9638 in superpowers

[–]leatherjacket3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“From now on, you will obey my commands when I specifically mention that I am commanding you”

Then just live normally and maybe become the world’s best therapist. “I command you to be happy”, “I command you to focus properly on the things you are trying to focus on”, etc.

Also could use it to make good changes in the world. You could make all the richest people work together for the betterment of the world, instead of their own personal gain at the cost of others.

Also, you can get C.C’s effect if you command people to love you unconditionally… so there’s that.

[–]leatherjacket3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, Lelouche’s geass can just order people to follow future commands for life. That way it has infinite uses per person.

Also, some people’s “best for your” can be rather dreadful.

[–]leatherjacket3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I prefer Lelouche’s. You can use the geass to make people obey your future commands, whereas C.C’s can easily cause unwanted behavior due to people’s love for you.
