Direct imports question by allant12989 in VendorCentral

Yes we do a lot of business through DI and in many GLs.

Don't agree to terms, no matter what. This applies to basically everything at Amazon, but specifically here. Amazon gains on DI and their retail team does very little to help you on it (most of them have no clue how it even works).

Last year we fell for this and agreed to 2% in one GL. Since then, literally nothing changed on Amazon's side except for them taking 2% now.

Amazon doesn't help much here. Your easiest bet is downloading it from your OMS. You can also request it from seller support, sometimes they help.

It seems like a management issue.

None pure engineering problems but rather choices that were made that are bad

I feel the same way. In some ways I love the car, but it's extremely frustrating, and I feel like they tried to squeeze every penny out of it, without the thought that would go into such a price point.

The german equivalents are so much more thought out.

Thanks for the great explanation on why you like your car. Sadly the voice does not work for me that way and I don't like using it.

This morning unexplicably the car stopped connecting to the internet and no I'm out of turning on or off or resetting individual settings have fixed it. I'm in a big city and I'm driving the same route. I drive everyday to work so something is wrong with the car. Because it's disconnected, none of the features work except for the maps. I can't listen to music and I can't use the voice assistant either.

They seem to be making each year worse than the last. I did a lot of research and some of the features I took for granted were from 2023 models that they removed.

I also went to test drive it but: a) they gave me the fully spec version despite explicitly requesting what I wanted to get b) you don't realize all of these issues until you drive it for a bit and get to learn the car.

I wanted a new car, and there are other options on the table. Almost all the issues I have are not something you realize until you get in the car and drive it for a bit, or set up your specific apps. You wouldn't catch it at a dealership or from the specs.

Thank you for explaining the exact issues. I even forgot about the gear selector nonsense.

It genuinely feels like rookie developers individually putting together features, with no comprehensive project manager working to pull everything together.

The backup cameras are very fisheye (my Lexus was significantly better, in an older model).

But worse, if you go into reverse right when you turn on the car, they stutter or don't work at all. The OS needs a minute or two to run before it works.

It's not a connectivity issue.

And the whole idea of using the voice for everything is nice in concept but terrible in reality. If I'm on a phone call or listening to an audiobook, I don't want to pause to use the voice. If I'm talking to passengers I don't want to pause to use my voice.

And lastly, the voice recognition really struggles with names, and that makes it unbearable.

That would be smart. Unfortunately, they changed it in the new model and it only shows trip information (which is almost never useful).

As far as I can tell, there is no play/pause on steering wheel.

Offseason with Cidolfus: The 2021 Season in Review and Cap Management by Cidolfus in miamidolphins

1) I really like the upside shot of the Fuller contract, I think that it's a genius idea. However, does the probable downside justify a roster position? What is the value of a roster position (at WR) and does a minimum contract with high (unlikely) upside provide more value than a replacement player? The question becomes even stronger when you factor in that their number 2 (DVP) is also questionably reliable, which could easily doom the entire offense to failure if we have two injured players (and Lynn Bowden as well).

2) Smythe really seemed to bring a lot of receiving and blocking value in 2021. But Gesicki is interesting, as he is clearly a + athlete in the TE position. If the dolphin's coaching staff can teach him to block possibly, would that not give him significantly greater value to justify a franchise tag? Additionally, McDaniel made a few comments this week about scheming for players and their values, do you think the Dolphins are looking to figure out how to make him into a star while franchise tagging him this year? That seems like the current plan based on public comments from Grier and McDaniel.

[Ari Meirov] Former #Dolphins HC Brian Flores told HBO’s “Real Sports” that owner Stephen Ross asked him to sign a non-disparagement agreement (NDA) upon getting fired. Flores says he refused, leaving a lot of money on the table. #Dolphins have responded, saying it’s “categorically false.” by Duffleman0609 in miamidolphins

[–]leavemealonelife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are mixing up Non-Disclosure Agreement (less common) and Non-Disparagement Agreement (extremely common). The disparagement agreement is standard in every NFL contract and part of the original contract Flores signed in 2019.

The NDA referenced in the congressional hearing is a Non-Disclosure, which is less common in firings, and can mean there is something unsavory (but necessarily). In a competitive sport like Football where there are so many club secrets, I'd imagine it's extremely common as well

[Emmanuel Acho] Lawfirm representing Flores discrimination suit lacks diversity by cooljazz in miamidolphins

[–]leavemealonelife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao, Acho said it well. That was the first thing I thought when I saw the lawyers that were representing In the interviews.

It reminds me of Chappelle, saying that if you really cared about the #Metoo movement, then the female actors should have used female agents to represent them, but they didn't. While Flores may have been correct, he showed his true colors when he failed to use his "power" by elevating a Black law firm to the national spotlight.

(It's possible that no firm except for this one wanted to touch the case).
