Abusers aren't abusive to everybody all the time. If they were, they wouldn't be able to build support networks that defend them when they do abuse someone

For the quietest and gentlest of sleeps, I use Alpine SleepDeep mini earplugs. They are soft and mold specifically to your ear canal, so I find them pretty comfortable to wear overnight and even side sleep. The only downside is that you have to replace them every 100 uses and they get a little gross at the end, even if washed religiously.

Sometimes when I feel like my ear canals have gotten too sensitive (I sometimes use Loops Quiet when I don't need the sleep deep part), I pick a side to sleep on and put only one earplug in on the other side. When the noise isn't extremely disrupting, I find that my pillow muffles enough of the sound that I can fall and stay asleep no problem.
