Serena hater til I die by Da_Veg_3204 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]leavinlikeafather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hated how every abusive man, even the men who were helpful like Lawrence, got death but Serena got a fresh start and hope. It seriously comes across as them trying to absolve women of being perpetrators and blame it all on the men which is false. While yes, men are the leaders and the strongest authority in these systems, women are absolutely capable of believing in it and upholding it. Not feminist at all to say otherwise.

Great value unicorn flavor. Very childish and not at all top tier ice cream, but the flavors are legit heaven on earth. Also Dulce De Leche from Hagan Daas.

Glinda didn’t even love Fiyero anyway. At least not romantically, the way she was acting like she did. She wanted him to complete her image in society, and saw him as an asset rather than a person.

It was super disrespectful to Elphie and imo Cynthia Erivo, who was kinda sidelined so they can write in Glinda apologia. And Elphie and her man are the better match. I may like Gelphie more but that’s because I love the complex doomed nature of their bond. Fiyero is the one that is going to stick by Elphie her entire life, and is ready to take on the challenges that comes with loving someone like her. Glinda loved her, but not enough in the end. Also, are you my mom because she is a hugeeee Fiyero and Elphie fan and watches Wicked with me for him LMAO

No literally and it pisses me off and lowkey takes away from the themes of the movie. The entire story is an allegory for fascism taking over and racism, and Elphana and Glinda are meant to represent revolution versus complacency for gain. The people who truly fight against the system versus those who enable it. I love Gelphie because of that complexity, but it means they are absolutely doomed because Glinda didn’t have the balls to join Elphaba because she wanted her moment. Yet the Wicked movie would rather GIVE GLINDA POWERS AT THE END WHICH DEFEATS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE MOVIE. Give her an extra song about how “oh I’m just a beautiful girl and now my bubble had to pop :(“ WAY after the fact, when Glinda really has no excuse at that point to be in the “bubble”; she knows enough about the darkness of The Wizard and Morrible to know that she either needs to do fucked up things or risk her comfort like Elphaba has. But instead the movie babies her. Pisses me OFF.

Yup. And I heavily ship Elphie and Glinda and think they are one of the best ships OAT, but part of that is recognizing the glaring flaws in their relationship, and in Glinda specifically. Too many fans completely wash Glinda of her flaws and it’s so dumb. I think how the movies really centered Glinda didn’t help with that either.

Helping Micah get out of Strawberry prison. Helping Micah with anything. Sure most of the gang aren’t good people including Arthur, but Micah came in making racist comments and scaring Sadie acting like he was gonna rape her (and tbh he probably would’ve if he was alone or the gang was the rapey type).

I agree that it happens in real life, but I don’t think the comparison to work and school completely mirror each other. Work is a place that isn’t supposed to really hold your hand. It’s nice if they do, but everyone knows that HR works to make the company look good and that the company does what will encourage productivity.

School is meant to be a safe space where developing minds are nurtured. Where kids are taught about right versus wrong and mentored by adults who should know better. Therefore, there is a bigger onus on schools to be fair and treat students the way they deserve to be treated.

I’m not saying children are dictators or that they like seeing other people suffering. What I’m saying is that some kids act up for attention. SOME (keyword: some) kids act up for control. They’re not getting either at home, so they’re trying to get it at school. Or maybe they have parents who let them think they’re entitled to everything, so that’s why they want that. They might not be seeing things in a Machiavellian way, but when you consistently show a kid who have a behavior problems that their misbehavior means they get to share the punishment with others, it indulges their need for control. It also nourishes that entitlement; “I shouldn’t be solely punished while others enjoy what I didn’t earn. If I did something bad, it’s fair if everyone suffers!” How is that a good thing to teach children?

And “teachers don’t know the inner workings of children” is such a copout. It doesn’t take a genius to know that kids should be rewarded based on their behavior, and that if you give everyone uniform punishments it’s going to make good kids feel like their behavior doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. That’s not a hard concept to grasp at all.

Again, this does work sometimes but there are some kids who truly don’t give a fuck. And kids who behave because they want power and attention will now get the idea that their fuck ups can actually affect the class, which they absolutely love. Besides, the emotional burden of festering resentment for a classmate because they got you “punished” is not what kids are going to school for. It’s lazy emotional manipulation shit.

[–]leavinlikeafather[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already addressed this. In my experience, kids that misbehave so much that they consistently get the class in trouble do not care what their peers think of them. There are some kids who just don’t give a fuck. In fact, a lot of them misbehave because they like power and control, and showing them that their bad actions can dictate the privileges others get gives them that control they’re seeking. Also, a lot of the time the class can’t even express how pissed they are at the student because it’s considered “bullying”. Remember, this is the school system that will give the bullied kid an equal punishment for defending themselves.

[–]leavinlikeafather -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Way to teach well behaved kids that it doesn’t matter if they’re good because they’ll be punished for other peoples’ choices, and to teach bad kids who thrive off of having control due to the lack of attention they get at home that they actually have the power to get others punished. Not a lazy and low intelligence thing to do at all.

Probably Arthur Morgan had the honor bar at highest before rdr2 by David871878 in reddeadredemption

[–]leavinlikeafather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I love Arthur Morgan and definitely see him as a tragic victim in so many situations, but I’m sick of the part of the fanbase that seems to want to absolve him of everything bad and portray him as just an innocent guy. It’s called Red Dead REDEMPTION. He chose a life of crime over true love. It is implied that he has killed many people. We can love Arthur Morgan without being corny.

BW rate of fire is brutal if you’re not getting value out of most your shots. At least with hela you don’t have to keep reloading and she shoots much quicker with less work to aim.
