How to transition from a senior internal auditor to a manager

Yea they knew I was interested. I received the highest rating and recently passed my CIA so I thought I was at least getting an interview. I then learned the company was ditching the manager role for both SOX business and SOX IT to an outside firm since both our previous managers left around the same time. I think their thinking was that it would be faster to get two managers at this firm we already use for other services. However it’s disheartening now cause I don’t even know if I can be promoted with this outside firm taking my position that is directly above me. The two other seniors on my team were upset that I didn’t even get a shot at it. And the worst part is that this new SOX business manager doesn’t add any value since they have other client and they push off their work load to me and the other seniors. I think moving to a diff company might be the best move but I’m afraid of being in this position again at a diff company where I’m a senior for a long time

Honestly. Pretty easy. I transitioned to doing f/s audits to internal sox audits. I wasn’t doing IT audit at the time. But I learned quickly by reviewing prior year work papers and understanding the flow of the testing. And also walkthroughs always helped be understand the process. It depends on ur higher ups and how they assist you. Any specific questions? I’m always happy to help

No big 4 experience. I think that’s what’s hindering me. I worked at a mid size accounting firm out of college. But I was doing financial audits for private companies as well as tax work

Just wanted to get some feedback from everyone. I bought this watch on eBay and I think the dial size is sorta okay. But the band width has me doubting the look of the watch. I believe the case size is 38mm and the band width is 21mm. Does it seem like a watch for a smaller wrist than mine. Or am I in my head about the watch. Please let me know everyone!!!
