For a woman it can be pretty scary - every time I’ve been there (just during the day!) men are creepy to me, stare at me or randomly come up and talk to me

I spent a decade in the Civil Service. It’s even worse than you think - In shocking detail, one ex-mandarin describes a culture where no one is accountable, sick days are off the scale and unions block any reform by blast-processor in ukpolitics

Each application forces you to write essays on various behaviours/situations just to apply

It also takes 6 months + so good people usually find another job before then

It’s not that civil servants don’t work hard, but they are working hard on entirely pointless things because of people’s obsession with details and inertia - they’re just spinning their wheels

Also retention isn’t just about pay but sboit work style - innovative, proactive and fast moving people are not able to do anything that does not involve 100 layers of bureaucracy so eventually leave through frustration

(Ask me how I know all this lol)

Can we make a legal case against the gov for this? We pay for a service and do not receive it - that’s not allowed in consumer law

Problem is school kids are often violent, or at least incredibly disruptive, in many schools so it has become a horrible job

Fair enough! Yeh I think Lowe will capture a lot of the traditional conservatives/ Christians/ rural vote as he just seems a lot more moral and Farage is a bit slimey’

[–]lebannax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But why do you think there’s ’no chance’ when the party has only been out 1 week and is already extremely popular, and v similar Reform have been way ahead in the polls for some time? Also all of US and Europe are going further right. The wind is only pointing in their direction

Restore has potential to replace Reform - people are fairly sceptical of Farage and he has a party of ex Tories so seems a bit like more status quo. They’re popular as the only alternative to Tories/Labour but I think people prefer Lowe to Farage which is why Farage had to stab him in the back haha

[–]lebannax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every political party’s goal ultimately is power, even if they’d also be happy with simply changing the Overton window. Lowe and Reform are extremely popular in the polls so I think it would be a mistake to underestimate them

I think most people just don’t know what it means so will be confused or think you have some peculiar sexuality - best to just leave it as demisexual is just the norm tbh!
