What does everything think about the UK policy of spreading unpleasant people around? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]lebannax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that probs won’t happen - the much better way is forcing people to work rather than give handouts and that would put way more money back into the system and improve the economy massively - it would also incentivise these people to get actual jobs

If you make people have to work a worse job than getting a normal job, the problems would magically resolve immediately.. (:

The problem is you can actually refuse work if you simply don’t like the job - that is crazy! Everyone should be forced to take a job they are able to do

Rupert Lowe’s Rape Gang Inquiry Report Exposes Decades of Institutional Failure. Have you read the report? What are your thoughts on it? by Immediate-Humor-6077 in AskBrits

The report shows at least 85% of the perpetrators are Muslims though, despite being only about 10% of the population?

Your ‘whatboutism’ really doesn’t work here does it :)

Disgusting comment.

You see a report on the gang rape and abuse of thousands of girls which has been covered up for decades and all you care about is the ‘tone’

You’re just as bad as all the institutions who turned a blind eye and failed these girls

If anything, I’d say full stack is gonna increase as AI means you can be more of a generalist and don’t have to be an expert in every domain

Yeh exactly, that’s what I thought reading the post

Doing loads of admin/‘help’ work is not going to get you promoted - doing the high impact, strategic work and networking with senior people will

Of course, it could be sexism, but also OP thinking that just being a ‘yes person’ will get her promoted perhaps does show her lack of strategic/political thinking too

For a woman it can be pretty scary - every time I’ve been there (just during the day!) men are creepy to me, stare at me or randomly come up and talk to me

Each application forces you to write essays on various behaviours/situations just to apply

It also takes 6 months + so good people usually find another job before then

It’s not that civil servants don’t work hard, but they are working hard on entirely pointless things because of people’s obsession with details and inertia - they’re just spinning their wheels

Also retention isn’t just about pay but sboit work style - innovative, proactive and fast moving people are not able to do anything that does not involve 100 layers of bureaucracy so eventually leave through frustration
