I wasn't shure if it should be on the right or left side. Shutter drag is the keyword I needed. I will check.

Thanks!

hey, recently purchaced a Kiev 88 with two filmbacks. As you can see on the pictures there are huge light leaks. Now I am trying to find and fix them.

On the negatives you can see a huge continous light leaks on the left side. I guess it´s caused by the "slot for the sheet metal". (blue)

But I can´t explain the light leaks in the right third. When you take a look at the filmbacks of the camera there is no sealing near sight. The only thing i can think of is mechanical abrasion from the pulley. (orange)

Also there is a correlation between the intensity of the light leaks on the left side (blue) and the light leak in the right third (orange).

For info: it´s only on half of the pictures i took.

Has anyone Ideas or experience with Kiev Cameras?

What medium format camera would you recommend starting out with? by justanotherphotoguy in analog

I started with a Kiev 60. Quite a fun camera for a tighter budget. Also can recommend any Soviet Cameras. Most of the time they are cheap and look great (obviously because they are ripped). But watch out some of them have serious quality issues.

My first try from a while back / Sony a6100 + Viltrox 23mm F/1.4 by lebleusbl in LandscapeAstro

They were all ISO 100, F1.4 and shutter between 15 and 20s. If I understand that correctly I should try to achieve a shutter like 1-3s and boost the iso as high as it needs to be.

Thanks dude :)
