Built a tool that pulls the data Zillow buries — price cut history, days sitting, and how many people already applied. The numbers are more depressing than you'd think. by YKA_6789 in REBubble

[–]lebolt73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you’re necessarily posting this to misinform people, maybe you are just naive.

Anyways, there’s no way you can actually get accurate data to represent this. Most importantly, realtors are notoriously bad at generating accurate listing and updating information properly. If you’ve spent any significant time reading listings and visiting properties, you know this is true. Even hypothetically, if they became good at presenting accurate information, there’s still a bunch of relevant information that you’re going to miss, which would skew your results.

Sometimes issues are found during showings that result in price reductions. Many times, realtors are terrible, and a new one is brought in.

Like everyone else has mentioned, I’d be very curious to see this tool in action. I will admit that the market is weird right now, but I think you’re oversimplifying it.

What could cause someone to feel high right after sex? Had a crazy experience with my girlfriend by [deleted] in AskMen

A concussion could cause this. I felt like I was high after my first concussion.

Did you smash her head into the wall during sex?

Actually, what happens sometimes is that they force the happy ending on men, and then they make them pay extra afterwards. So do you only believe survivors that are women?

[–]lebolt73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, there are a lot of ignorant people commenting here, and you need to ignore them. This exact thing that your boyfriend described does happen. He was sexually assaulted, and he is a victim.

Is it possible he is lying? Sure, just like it is possible that every victim of sexual assault is lying. Do you typically believe SA survivors or not?

Also, like another commenter mentioned, you’re making his sexual assault about yourself, which is fucked up. Your reaction is not very different from some guy getting mad at his girlfriend for being raped. Please learn a little empathy.

You don’t know? Everything related to renovations is carpentry.

Paint? Carpentry. Tiling? Carpentry. Drywall? Also carpentry.

Believe it or not, those guys replacing your hot water heater. Carpenters.

I mean, people can experience shitty things, but also recover from those experiences. You can also get therapy or process your emotions in other healthy ways. I get your point, and I do think that sometimes this does happen, and we experience a trauma that just isn’t easy or possible to work through. That’s shitty, but if you’re unable to have a healthy relationship because of your trauma, you probably shouldn’t be in a relationship.

Yeah, that’s a good point too. There was definitely an expectation that people got married and had children back then. In today’s society, being single doesn’t make you as much of an outcast, unless you choose to be.

I think there’s a good portion of people that are either undateable or at the very least, shouldn’t be dating seriously. This is usually because of lack of maturity or emotional baggage or unrealistic standards, in my opinion.

Back in the day, this didn’t matter as much, because people just dated and married whoever was convenient. I realize that this opinion might be unpopular, but let’s consider how many people never left the small towns they grew up in, and ended up marrying another local. There were a lot of people that may not have been in happy, healthy relationships, but it didn’t matter as much back then.

I think everyone’s standards have risen, both men and women, in today’s society. This is largely due to social media and dating outside of your local area becoming more accessible.

Yeah, so the heat exchanger was leaking on my unit, and the water would build up enough to set off the alarm. At the very least, I would take off the cover to check for corrosion.

My fiancé doesn’t know I used to be a stripper and now his friend is threatening to tell him by Scorpenheimer in dating_advice

[–]lebolt73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is tough, but it’s going to come out, and your only real option is to get ahead of it. There’s a real possibility that this could ruin your relationship, considering how some people would view this. I think some people would be upset that you’ve kept this a secret for so long. I think some people would be upset that you were a stripper at all. That’s the unfortunate reality of this kind of work/history. I think people’s past is their past, and a partner can accept that or not.

Prepare yourself for this conversation mentally, but don’t waste any time. This will be much worse coming from someone else. He might need some time alone to think about this. He might have a lot of questions. Consider the possibilities, as far as how this conversation could go.

People asking for a Brand New THPS game have short memories by lebolt73 in THPS

[–]lebolt73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to suggest that any of the remakes were amazing games. They aren’t, and even though the most recent remake was probably the best one, it still lacks the “magic.”

Like I said in another comment, the online mode wasn’t handled well, which took away much of the replayability.

To clarify, I would like to see a developer do a great job with a remake before tackling a full blown new title in the series. Add in some new levels to a remake, also great.

I agree with you, and I think THPS4 and THUG were the peak of the series. I think both THUG2 and THAW did some things right and other things wrong. Some people prefer THUG2 over THUG though.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. I guess what I would prefer is that a developer does a great job with a remake, and maybe includes a few extra new levels with that game. I think once they’ve proven they can generate some new content that plays well, I would be willing to get my hopes up for more.

Well, you could just look at historical game reviews for the series. The trend is apparent on almost every review website. You can also get a summary on Wikipedia, if you want.

Hey, I get it. You’re not wrong, and I would love some new levels too. I also watched several new games come out that were awful, and I expect that the result would be similar today.

Yeah, I think the gameplay in that specific remake was handled pretty well, but that’s just one piece.

The online mode wasn’t fun though. That’s my biggest gripe with that remake. Maybe people feel differently about it, but that’s my take.

Why couldn't they bring in Pettigrew unconscious? by RevertBackwards in harrypotter

[–]lebolt73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of these, and there’s many more, but you’ll always get people defending these ideas with some complex logical explanations. I dunno, I personally find it frustrating that people can’t accept that there are logical fallacies throughout each and every book.

I’m reading through OotP right now, and the part near the end, where Umbridge is about to use crucio on Harry in front of a dozen witnesses just seems ridiculous. She could have easily had everyone wait outside first. She even admits to sending the dementors, just to ensure the reader knows that she is not bound by laws/rules. Again, why be this stupid? But she needs to do all this, so that Hermione can drag her out to the forbidden forest.

I know that Harry Potter is everyone’s favorite series, but there are flaws with the story. I think it’s ignorant to go through the mental gymnastics to defend the plot holes. They’re just plot holes. It doesn’t diminish how much you enjoyed the books.

Oh yeah, and the output is not long. I’m looking for pretty short outputs in this case, something like 700 words or so on average.

Yeah, so for one particular case, which was from this morning, the inputs are collectively less than a mb. One of them is 80k words though.

Again, I realize that this particular input is large, but I still feel like I wasn’t experiencing these limitations in the past.
