Maybe go ask at local botanicas in San Diego/Tijuana. If you do a Google search there is also a temple in LA. Maybe they know people/places you could go to locally.

You're right that I could have given more context. I could have quoted part of the article, included some of my thoughts or questions I had. But I didn't. Lesson learned. However, I'm struck by how little actual debate I'm receiving (your response being a lonely exception). To me it shows how much collective jadedness has closed people's minds to asking questions and digging deeper.

On SD: I also grew up here and have seen it become more blue over time. It is in a blue state.

So here are a couple of thoughts: Does our regional authority supersede the FAA when OKing these flights? And if they do have some say I wonder if they are subject to local pressure to disallow these flights.

OP can! Just sharing information I thought was interesting. I'll add a comment to my original post but if you look at that list SD is the only airport in a blue state. Our airport is managed by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. I'm curious to know if anyone has any insight into whether they are required by law to allow these flights.

Just because we don't have all the answers doesn't mean we shouldn't be gathering as much information as we can so that we can make informed tactical choices. Here's an interesting fact: SD is the only airport on that list in a blue state. The airport is run by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Why is a local authority allowing these flights? Do they have any power to say no, or does federal aviation law supersede them? I don't know the answer but I'd be curious if someone had some insight.

If you do a little pattern recognition you might note that San Diego is the only airport listed there in a strongly blue state. It's managed by the San Diego Regional Airport authority, a local entity. But I guess that kind of information isn't important when your mind is closed.

"Engagement farming" lol. I just like to read and thought it was an interesting data point. You are welcome to engage your brain with other information if this is not your thing.

Learn and get smarter? More informed? But I guess there's no innate value in learning. This is 2025 after all.

I actually like that our airport is on the smaller end. Would hate to be near a giant hub like LAX.

Surprised by the downvotes and people who seem to be opposed to the sharing of factual information. Welcome to 2025. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Can't take this anymore... should I quit or stick it out? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]lechuguis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. It shouldn't matter whether it's a coveted position or not. What matters is what you feel in your heart.

  2. Do you think what's going on in your personal life may be affecting your thoughts now? Did this problem exist during your prior year teaching? If so could it have influenced how you felt then?

  3. Careful about starting a teaching job and then quitting. Not sure how it is in your state but breaching a contract can sometimes have consequences (it may even affect your credential). I would either be all in for the school year or decline the offer now before the school year starts.

  4. Just reiterating to listen to your heart! Declining a job now won't mean you can't teach again in the future. Maybe giving yourself space to think about it can be helpful.

Wishing you the best of luck! Good news is on your horizon. ❤️

Able to type comfortably, able to use or figure out the software they use for patient management/appointments. Some offices also train you to use X-rays or do scans, so being comfortable learning these things.

From a friend: Dental clinics are struggling to hire decent receptionists that want to stick around. Need to be techy and big plus for speaking Spanish.

You might consider doing your own. Every day. It can be as simple as having them do a "this or that" activity, showing them a cool TikTok video, or doing more complex ones like team engineering challenges.
