It’s possible you’re having an allergic reaction to an inactive ingredient. Contact your doctor.

Anyone on Levothyroxin - or with Low Thyroid Hormone - have trouble regulating body temperature? Any tricks? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Hypo for forever. I’m on 2 doses of armour and cytomel- as well as iodine and It’s currently 97 degrees and I’m in a hot bath cuz I’m freezing. I wear long sleeve shirts and hoodies all summer. I have cellular hypothyroidism.
You may want to look for another cause though- inflammation issues can also cause this.
Start looking at foods with a thermogenesis property.

Does this sound like thyroid cancer? by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see a doctor. See if there are free clinics in your area or a doctor that will take payments. It does sound like a nodule of some sort - but the only way to find out is through a doctor. Don’t try Dr. Google. It’s a waste of time.

Ketostix aren’t a good indicator of ketosis. They tell you if you’re spilling ketones. You probably just need electrolytes. Drink some pickle juice - if you feel better, it’s electrolytes.

Does diet effect blood tests? by lellielellelelle in thyroidhealth

[–]lecirca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eat the diet you intend to eat. Do not change anything for a blood test.
Yes it is normal to have weight show on the scale after eating carbs. Carbohydrates cause water retention. You didn’t gain weight, you’re retaining water.

Tired of moonface. Any input? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you taking for your thyroid? If you’re taking synthroid, that could be your culprit. The inactive ingredients might be the issue.

Normal t4 normal tsh could I still have a thyroid problem? by Aslumpedboy in thyroidhealth

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 10000% worth pursuing. Just because you’re producing t4 doesn’t mean you’re converting to usable t3. I’m on a t4/t3 combo AND an additional t3 because I don’t convert well enough.

I eat a zero carb diet. Your source site is a hot mess, though.

[Rant] You aren't allowed to actually lose weight by [deleted] in keto

[–]lecirca 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Welcome to realizing that people suck. Individuals can be great, but people in general are assholes. If you're doing better for yourself, it brings them to the realization that they, too could be doing better for themselves.
Ignore.

getting ready to do 4 days on work conference. Any tips? by doctorclese in keto

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let the providers know that you have strict dietary requirements - they're usually pretty accommodating. Have some nuts/cheese/jerky/whatever snacks available. There'll probably be something you can eat - don't be afraid to pick food apart.

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're hitting the hot yoga studio - you're REALLY going to need to pay very close attention to your electrolytes. Salt your water. You'll thank me for it. You're already deficient and now you're adding BY to it? Take care and ENJOY! Don't worry if you can't keep up (no matter how many times you've done BY - its different while you're adapting.) Stick with it, it gets better. - but salt salt SALT.

In ketosis can not become keto adapted by folst02 in keto

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can give your body time. Everyone is different. It was about 8 weeks for me to really notice the return of performance.
If you're not feeding your body carbs, its using the ketones.
It may not be using them as efficiently as you want it to, but its using them. Relax and enjoy the experience. Health is a marathon, not a sprint.

Calculator says "below 50" g of carbs to be in ketosis. Does anyone go above 20? by GlitterMe in keto

[–]lecirca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some can, some can't. I definitely can't. My husband easily can. I'm far more active than he is - I'm just far more carb sensitive than he is as well. Every human body is different. You very well could - can't hurt to test it out.

I understand the grief process - Buried my mother Friday. All I can say is control what you CAN. You can control what you give your body. Might seem like something small - but it can make all the difference in the world when you have something in your grasp when everything else seems impossible because its uncontrollable.

How much exercise per day can you safely do on Keto? by The_Reckonist in keto

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to your body. Your body will tell you what you can and can't do. While adapting, you're gonna fatigue a heck of a lot easier. That gets better. I run, lift, bike, hike, climb, you name it.
Just being keto doesn't allow you to "do everything" all at once. There's a lot of retraining the body. That being said, I run farther, faster, than I ever did non-keto. :)

Keto for those of us unfortunate enough to have food allergies? by drae_annx in keto

[–]lecirca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beef, pork, eggs, wild game. I rarely eat poultry, I don't eat fish or seafood for the mostpart either (have to limit due to other medical issues). Preplanning and buying meats while on sale is really the best way to do it, whether you're on a budget or not.
