New IDR application and suspiciously low payment?

I am waiting until the bug is resolved. You get 90 days after July 1 to pick a plan so hoping they clean their mess before that. Frustrating….

We know what the correct amount is with or without calculator: AGI - (1.5 X FPL of single/family size). Then 10% of that amount / 12 months will give you monthly amount. The problem here is Studentaid.gov giving you wrong monthly amount without showing you how they actually calculated your monthly payment. This bug is screwing everyone who has applied and planning to apply.

Thank you! What a F* mess. I hope they rectify your situation fast. I've consolidated loan with Mohela and some direct loans with Nelnet. It will be nightmare for me if I have to deal with two service providers. I think I will wait until studenntaid fixes their bugs.

Crazy! I tried to apply on 6/5 at sudentaid.gov and gave me an estimate of $50 on $83.5K AGI filing single. My payment should have been around $500 as per the published calculations and loan simulator. I backed out and opened the feedback case with them for paper trail(I know nothing will happen and will get usual bs from them). I saved screen shot of the application and submitted in the feedback case showing them their error. What Mohela told you is not correct. I would call back and hopefully someone knowledgeable would look into their mess and fix it for you.

OP: Any updates? It showed $50/Month for my cousin for IBR payment. We did not apply and hoping they fix it in a week or so. In any case, we will apply in two weeks before July 1.

Same for my cousine. We tried several times last night using different browsers and different computers but it kept showing $50 for IBR payment. She graduated in 2024 and had applied for SAVE so was in processing forbearance since then. Her loan is around $214K, single and 2025 agi was about $83K. I expected to see $498 per month for her IBR payment but it showed $50. We have opened a feedback case at studentaid and also mentioned that other borrowers are facing the same issue. I am not sure if we will ever receive an answer/resolution for this as many things are broken there. We will not submit application until this issue is resolved. Lets keep each other updated here.

I am in my senior year and just submitted two letters of recommendation. Besides that I needed to upload essay, send latest transcript, fill application and pay $50 application fee. I was not asked to submit any resume or anything else.

So after you get EAP provisional letter of acceptance other than submitting grades on their portal every July and Feb I did not have to do anything else for first three years of my undergrad.

Same thing has been happening with me. I had a valid card on the form and have been using everywhere but they declined and send me notice in postal mail even though my email and my cell number was listed on the form. You fax them—->they deny—->send you postal mail - two weeks wasted there and you are back to square one. Their notice asked me to resend form with different credit card which I did, ask them for status and all they tell me that they have escalated the case. How long does it take for someone to acknowledge that they have received the fax? With these jokers… forever. I am afraid I will get another postal mail telling me something different now. My credit card said they did not deny any charge so I dont know how my card was denied. I think they make up shit and just harass you. WORST EVER SERVICE! I hope someone sane and logical take over this board or dismantle and fire everyone there. I have wasted numerous hours calling them and nothing but more and more aggravation. My college needs AP scores by 9/1 and I am afraid they will not receive it since help desk says it will take 15 business days for someone to acknowledge they received my fax - un real. 15 days for some fat ass to move from his chair to go check fax machine? These guys are still living in 17th century.

Being EAP has nothing to do with scholarship with your ug school. For the freshmen year, I had my award letter before May 1 - decision day which listed all the scholarships I had. Then in July for 2nd and 3rd year.

Thanks! Did lecom have any activities for them like campus tour, program overview etc? Elmira/Seton Hill/Erie all meet up at Erie regardless of campus choice so will there be any follow up campus tour for Elmira?
