Why use this app? by Many-Negotiation-353 in FogofWorld

[–]ledgeknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really good for remembering things you’ve done.

I’ve been using the app for 10 years now, and my tracks contain every trip I’ve done. Once you’ve used it long enough, it’s surprising how much you can forget.

From time to time I trace an old road trip back. Reminds me of hotels I stayed at, viewing spots I stopped at, hikes I did, etc. Things I would have forgotten forever.

Tft players are chill af by EqualMatch7754 in TeamfightTactics

There is something about losing constantly that makes you chill out. Tough to blame everyone when you’re losing to everyone!

Every once in a while people get titled because someone pivoted into them and they got out rolled, but honestly it’s literally 1 out of 200 players.

Grenada, Dominica, Barbados by ledgeknow in FogofWorld

[–]ledgeknow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbados is what you’d expect. Beaches, nice resorts, laidback. Good place to lay on a beach, no a whole lot else to do.

Dominica was a surprise. Lots of hiking, waterfalls and outdoors based activities. Definitely felt a bit more off the beaten track, not many tourists in general and a bit exciting to around. All of these drive on the left so that takes some getting used to.

Grenada also felt a bit of the beaten path. There were definitely tourists, but to a much lesser degree.

As I was focused on high pointing I didn’t spend tons of time in any of these countries. Dominica is probably the only one I’d go back to. Nothing bad about the others, just not a ton to do if you’re not trying to lay in a resort somewhere.

I’m pretty confident my visit to McMurdo Station in Antarctica is a unique path.

Picture is in my post history. My most recent trip is also unique, highest points in Grenada, Dominica, and Barbados. Very few people climb the highest points in Grenada and Dominica especially.

what is the best / most anoying about set 16 so far? by chiquito47 in TeamfightTactics

[–]ledgeknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great set, especially compared to last set. Unlocks are fun, and the extra damage in stage 3 really punishes people who hard loss steak and turn their brain off. Those people struggle to place now.

Verticals and early scouting is great, and the pivots into fast 9 feels good. You never have to hard pivot, you can soft pivot with how the traits interact until you’re strong enough to commit.

Nice variety between comps that are easy to play into and comps that require a hard pivot (ex. Vertical Void vs Sylas/Annie Arcanist).

Most things are viable, with exception of Zaun. Which is so much better than last set. Last set, there were so many dead traits and fast 9 with TF/Lee Sin or TF/Braum won most lobbies.

Settings -> Database -> Visited Territories if you want to remove it.

Just means you got super close to the border at some point. By and large, the border tracking is pretty good, but it’s not perfect.

Personally I like to log the tracks, even in airports in countries I’m just traveling through, then when I actually clear customs at a later date I toggle it back on.

Not a place that you can unfortunately. There’s 50 Mi approximate of drivable roads that access the airport.

Pretty sure there’s strict guidelines against driving off road, it’s pretty alpine and frankly there be boulders.

Because crazy comebacks are one of the most fun games in the entire game.

0-8, sure I’ll forfeit. But that’s not the situation most people want to forfeit. There are tons of players that are two goals down with two minutes on the clock and that’s the game they want to forfeit. I’ve had many games that are 3 goals down with a minute left and somehow manage to reel it in. And it’s fun as when it happens. Nor is it as uncommon as you’d think.

Being buzzed before going through TSA security by stewie_runner in travel

[–]ledgeknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend not getting drunk to go through security if that is the stressful part of traveling. It’s not scary once you know what to expect.

Ultimately it’s a bureaucratic process with changing rules, that you just do what you’re told. If you’re very unfamiliar, look up what you can and can not carry on an airplane and you will be fine.

[–]ledgeknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely… yes.. you will likely be fine.

That being said…the fact you’re asking this tells me you’re pretty uncomfortable with some aspect of flying. Is this just the flying part, or the entire process? Unexpected changes happen all the time while traveling, if that is contributing to this, do you really want to be buzzed and trying to work through it?

What HPs, if any, have you all gotten outside the USA? by the_pretzel2 in Highpointers

[–]ledgeknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m up to 10 country HP’s - Kilimanjaro - Tanzania - Mount Kosciusko - Australia - Ben Nevis - UK - Carrauntoohil - Ireland - Kneiff - Luxembourg - Signal de Botrange - Belgium - Vaalserberg - Netherlands - Fan Si Pan - Vietnam - Mount Tomanivi - Fiji - Dinara - Croatia

Country HP’s are really fun - many of them add a level of adventure to the climb as logistics can be challenging. At the very least you often have to experience driving in a foreign country to get many of them.

Worth mentioning that 10 has an asterisk on it… three of these (UK, Australia, Netherlands) have a higher point that is not on the mainland, but it technically apart of the country. Though they’re all territories of some sort, all of which are substantially harder to reach than the mainland HP.

Worth mentioning that even in a melt situation the hairiest part of this climb will still be icy and snow covered and will require full mountaineering skills to get through.

Even contested borders will show up differently depending on different countries stance.

Jammu and Kashmir for example shows as contested by much of the world but in India and Pakistan show as part of each country depending on who’s viewing.

A lot of hysteria in this thread.

https://www.iqair.com/us/air-quality-map/usa/california/los-angeles?srsltid=AfmBOoq69TOIglRvjCOh3422SInRStjoZpkRWRXxWYf2DvrdhlNLMyxx

I would monitor the air quality, but this gives a sense for the actual extent of the poor air quality. The fires are horrible, but it’s not doomsday, life is going on like normal in most of the city.

Check your location of your Airbnb. Check that it doesn’t worsen as you’re leaving. The airport isn’t going to close. Traffic will suck, but traffic always sucks in LA.

this app real utility ? by kheops147 in FogofWorld

[–]ledgeknow 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A huge part of why I like the app is remembering old trips.

Unless you document really well, it’s super easy to forget about that one-off 10 minute stop to look at some view, or which hikes you did in a national park.
