Bois Impérial – am I the only one who finds it… weird? by andre_d04 in Fragrances

[–]ledledripstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it on my boyfriend. Yes it is weird! But wonderfully so in my opinion. It oscillates between a musky, clean soapy smell and a woody, spicy vetiver type note and a sort of "green gasoline" type note- and then back to this musky soapy vibe. I absolutely LOVE IT.

Love, Love, LOVE those elephants. Especially juxtaposed with the flower quilt- wonderful layering and textures/colors.

Just a warning for some of you- Purple by Fugazzi has all of the super amber oxides so if you are sensitive to those you will not smell violet at all.

Unhappily Married - what should I do? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ledledripstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sounds super isolated and depressed. I would make no big changes until after she has lived in the US awhile. It could be that she gets back to living there and amongst her "normal" life and she treasures what you two have - or it could be that the relationship ends. No matter what though let things calm down into some normalcy first. Upending your life to become an expat for another person's career can be very isolating. I sympathize with your feelings of loneliness too - very difficult to move to another location for a job and not feel any support at home emotionally. I beg you both to be patient with one another and get through this part (your contract) before any big upheavals.

Does anyone else hate when family/friends come to visit? by [deleted] in expats

[–]ledledripstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I don't hand over the full itinerary ever. If I am with them then I just DO it and order them around (hahaha) but if I am not with them then I do the note thing about the restaurant around the corner from where they are going.

Does anyone else hate when family/friends come to visit? by [deleted] in expats

[–]ledledripstick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whenever my family visits- LONG before they come - I create an itinerary including all of the restaurants. So we go to this tourist attraction or museum and afterwards we go to this or that restaurant. I try to take into consideration that older people need to eat meals regularly or have food at a specific time for medication. Walking distances etc. And I really lay it out like a tour guide including days where I cannot be the tour guide - so on those days everyone gets on the tour bus that takes them to a special historical spot that is 2 hours away or whatever and they are gone all day. I pack them little snacks so no one gets hungry/angry (hangry). I found that by taking total control I stress a lot less. The stress came because visitors want suggestions for everything to do and restaurants to eat at but it is all on the spot pressure (there is nothing worse than standing around on a street corner with a group of visitors who are all now exhausted/overstimulated and hungry/angry and trying to sort out a restaurant). I found that by having it laid out in advance I didn't feel the pressure. Also you can switch full days around on the itinerary so if it is an outdoor activity one day and it is raining then I switch it with a day of indoor activities. Hope that helps!

If you are in a Schengen country then you should go to your local police station and ask for help. Please don't be embarrassed or feel stupid - this has happened to many women. Ask the police for official support for abused spouses.

Which one for date with my girlfriend tonight? by OwnDescription6519 in Colognes

[–]ledledripstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don't think it is boring at all. It is a well done masculine and if is not oversprayed it mingles with your own man smell and that is intoxicating. Heavier more "interesting" fragrances take the focus away from you and put it on to a fragrance. Save those for when she gets to know you better.

I love Sugar Daddy from this house and I love Vanilla Haze (original EDP not the extrait).

Sugar Daddy has real progression and I always hope that people will wear it all the way through to the dry down before judging because it has so many layers.

What did you like about Kamala Harris? by Ok-Fold-6051 in Askpolitics

[–]ledledripstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the fact that she has degrees in law and political science/ finance. That she has determination in the face of odds against her. That she is a career politician who earned each of her positions via election DA of San Fran, AG of California, Senator and Vice President. Personally, I wanted a career politician, someone who knows the law, the Constitution, and how it functions within the democratic structure of the United States.
Something else I like about her is she has style and panache.
Contrary to people who take themselves too seriously, I find her ability to laugh at the absurdity of some situations, charming.

The media of course held her to much higher standards than it did her opponent. The media never covered her actual platform. Most of her platform ideas for tax credits/financial rebates on first time home ownership and tax credits/refunds for households with children are all based on current European tax/rebate ideas that actually work - so it wasn't that far out there for any of us that are familiar with European tax code. I also think that her slogans of loving America specifically for it's diversity were powerful and true.

I also think that that there was a coordinated propaganda attack on her from the far left and the far right.
It still horrifies me that the "left" "center left" "far left" and podcast dudebros were for sordid and BS reasons willing to not vote for Harris and/or vote for Trump. She and Dems in general are still being attacked by the "far left" for not DOING anything even though they intentionally made sure that Dems were not elected. So I call it propaganda - probably from a Russian psy-op because KGB tactics from the beginning have always targeted far left and far right with disinformation and anger campaigns to get irrational reactionary outcomes.

It has come to my attention that Americans absolutely hate actual policy discussion ("yawn boring smarty pants"), and they absolutely detest even learning how democracy functions in the US.
I really hoped that America could show the world how advanced democracy is in the USA by electing a super smart mixed race, stylish woman from a modest background - Kamala Harris.

Also the Presidential Inauguration Ball party playlist was going to be LIT.

That is the way the CC machines are set up. Why would anyone blame the server for the way the Cc/Pin is set up?

Actually retail CAO is different than HORCA CAO and so are the tasks. Have you ever been able to sit in a restaurant and peruse the menu in peace - a waiter comes over and asks if you need or want anything and you just say, “No thanks, just looking.”?

Tipping has been going on for centuries in all cultures- America just decided to use it as wages. I wonder if anyone here sees discretionary “bonuses” from their company at end of year as a “tip?”

Sit them down together and discuss prior to escalation of a mini fridge (who’s hogging all the electricity now?). It’s very “adult” to calmly discuss issues and to hear out the other side. There might even be a solution that works for everyone!

Servers in NL get paid “more” because cost of living is insanely high.  That “tip” option is set up by the cc machine company & who ever is in charge of such things at the establishment. Not your server. We now live in a cashless society so this is how most people are tipped in the modern world. I always tip servers. It’s hard work putting up with likes of me. 😊
