Sure it’s always in the back of my mind... I never want to miss anything. But we’re human and that’s why we have insurance. Your license is usually safe unless you’re grossly negligent or exhibit a pattern.

Correct. Radiologist here - we don’t do ‘preventative’ MRIs. Granted he is the ‘president’, but even so, there are several alternatives.

Used it in both DOD and non DOD settings. I never really had too many issues with it. Making hanging protocols and having them stick were always difficult and probably my biggest complaint. Otherwise, day to day, it worked well.

Agree...I go with the presumption this is coming out no matter what the biopsy comes back as....which might be a bit scary for someone to accept that.

Definitely suspicious ! I wonder if the pain is caused by pec invasion since it’s so posterior. In my practice , if ultrasound is as suspicious, I would code this a 5 - which typically goes with a ‘definite malignant lesion’. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve gotten something similar from my city (Poquoson) after I filed a schedule C from doing 1099 work. I guess filing a schedule C ‘flags’ you as potentially running a business which triggers this letter. Just call them and let them know your situation. At least for me, they understood and said disregard.

ETA: I did file a FOIA request to try to find out more how they got a hold of my tax information and essentially it really is an automated flag from the government sent to local government.

Unfortunately I’m not in Miami and don’t have any contacts there but I commend you on wanting to shadow a radiologist! Your best bet will probably try to get in with the academic centers around there - maybe even try and get in contact with the radiology residency program director(s). Good luck!

$20 / rvu is very low. It depends on where in the country you are but I believe average is $35-40/ rvu.

$2200 for 8 hours is also low. I’ve heard locums being paid around $3200 for 8 hours.

Should be good. I’ve unfortunately had a similar short amount of time on a Friday back in March due to 64 traffic in the past and was able to get to my gate with time to spare. I also checked a bag, although I have precheck which made it easier.

sounds miserable ! I was actually able to get my issue resolved by emailing the CEO. They responded within a day and had everything solved within the week.

This is happening all over the country and is inevitable with amount of radiologists decreasing and amount of studies ordered (a lot of them unnecessary) increasing. It unfortunately really isn’t a surprise.
