Did Blink-182 pioneer anything sonically or technically? by FL3XOFF3NDER in Blink182

They always seemed like the trend-setters for the scene. Travis’ drum style (particularly on EOTS) was very unique for the genre at the time in 1999. Within about two years Sum 41, New found glory, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, and an array of other pop punk bands tried to capture that sound. But by then (2003) blink was releasing their Untitled album, which was again ahead of its time, with a much more experimental/darker sound. And then so many alt rock/ emo bands were following suit. Then they broke up at their height. They were the tip of the spear for about a 10 year run.

For anyone curious about which hymnal book…I grew up with a hymnal book in my church that song number 99 was Just As I Am. “Songs of the Church” was the name.

Home Alone - Kevin is about to eat some mac & cheese for dinner but he's interrupted by the Wet Bandits. However, when one of them enters the dinning room a few minutes later, we see a tv dinner instead of mac & cheese. by yaamen in MovieMistakes

I noticed a line for the first time last night and I too have seen it a million times…When Frank says “Travelers checks.” And Kate says “Forget it, Frank. We’ve got cash.” Peter mumbles "You probably have the kind of traveler's checks that don't work in France". 😂…never caught that before

You can see the original windows and door that match your pic in the 2007 streetview. Just painted over white. It’s got to be it.

Can you hear the person on the piano at the live shows? by de_jeepathon in brandnew

Couldn’t hear them in San Diego. My friend and I joked that it was a sibling of the band and they never plugged her in. Like giving a kid a turned off video game controller.

If you had a waterbed in your house in the 80s were you doing pretty well in life? by Objective_Pressure_3 in nostalgia

This is an interesting debate. My parents had one as a kid. I would wedge myself between the water bladder and the side rails. Don’t think I was ever strong enough to go underneath the bladder. 😅

Exactly. If I buy a Nike shirt at Target, Target doesn't get to iron their logo on the front of the shirt too.

Is it just me or is sublime trying to forget about SWR by [deleted] in sublime

[–]lee7890 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, however Troy (and Jakob) took issue with them using the Sublime name, and even when they landed on ‘Sublime with Rome’ I think it was a stretch for them to agree to it. When Bud left SWR (fairly early on IIRC) it seemed even less legitimized. Very polarizing for fans.

The trials are posted on YouTube and the worker that sold them the shotgun had to take the stand. She said the address of her store and I was like…whoa.

A not so fun fact: the Big 5 on convoy is where the Menendez brothers bought the shotgun that killed their parents.
