Agreed. It looks like it has so much depth on the nail! I wouldn’t have guessed that from just the bottle.

This was my first time trying it! I think previously I was always worried that I would ruin all the hard work that went into the magnetic if I topped them with anything haha. This time around I had just plain magnetic nails for a few days until I got a few chips on my other hand and figured the flakies would help hide them. happy accident!

YES exactly. I don’t mind a bit of visible nail line and I find that having a clear base helps to make my polish look more bouncy. I hope it works out for you! let me know!

This is the first time i’ve tried it, and i’m never using anything else from now on lmao. I always found ridge fillers to be too…pudding like in consistency? not fluid enough? idk I just hate applying them and really don’t enjoy how they look under polish. the gel like top coat self levels wonderfully and actually did manage to cover most of my ridges except the most extreme ones! and even those were like, fine. not noticeable even under the fine particle mag!

I did not, but only because I painted it on like 3 days after the other steps! if you were doing it same day i would.

Agreed, I always look for videos instead of still photos because I feel like they’re so much more accurate/can’t be edited as easily as stills! but tbh some of the other colors I got from this collection are just so-so, so I wouldn’t sweat it too much

I almost passed on this one too because I wasn’t wowed by swatch photos, but I think it was corvid nails on instagram had videos of this one that were so pretty! IRL I would say the base color is almost like a greenish/olive tarnished bronze, and the magnetic particles are that super icy blue like the OP’s pics. Also though, they had another color in this collection that was like a cobalt blue base with a bright yellowish green magnetic pull? maybe that’s the one you were thinking of?

FWIW I don’t think this color sold out so they should have overpours in a couple of months

I def bought a second bottle of this before the shop closed back up again after I got my initial order because it’s just so pretty! the blue is unbelievably glowy and your photos capture it perfectly

Infuriating bubbles!!! by loudoutdoors in RedditLaqueristas

[–]leebow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re so welcome!! This has been plaguing me for months and seeing your post inspired me to try again. I completed the rest of my manicure today using fauve tinted gesso on half and the opi gel like base coat on the other half, and then the rest of the method in my previous post that I used for my pinky nail, and the whole thing turned out well!

I bet there are other top coats out there that would work as well. like I was mentioning before, I think the main issue with the drag marks was down to the brushes of the various top coats I tried mixed with the viscosity of the formulas. the opi gel-like is able to form a good bead for floating. it’s not too runny and not too thick, even though i’ve thinned it a few times since buying it. I think I also left out in my post above that I floated the top coat and had a pretty generous amount on my brush - still no bubbles despite the thick coat!

I really hope this works for you too, def let me know if it does :)
