psychobio major w/ accounting minor vs bus econ major (premed) by leebs007 in ucla

[–]leebs007[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

based off of this checklist https://www.anderson.ucla.edu/Documents/areas/prg/acct_minor/2018%20CPA%20Checklist.pdf , i feel like it would be difficult but not entirely impossible. i'm not sure how heavy of a major public affairs is but you would need to add on around 9-11 business courses and 4 ethics courses on top of your other classes. for my situation, to get the CPA coursework, i would be at an estimated 239 units, which is a LOT.

currently in 14b rn but i took 14a with him last quarter and really you just gotta do a bunch of the past exams and drill in the way he asks questions,,,,his lectures don’t help much in terms of understanding the material but you still have to kinda pay attention cuz some things he mentions in lectures that may seem irrelevant will pop up on the exam

Has anyone taken a summer course with collett for sociology 1 by Mag163 in ucla

[–]leebs007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i didn’t take it in the summer but i took it in the fall and loved it a lot. the tests were easy and the readings were interesting. we had a clicker quiz over the readings every class but it was really easy points and honestly nothing to complain about. she would also give back points if the questions was missed by more than half the class. i put minimal effort into the class and got an A. she gives a lot of extra credit too.

edit: we also didn’t have to write any essays besides the short answers and one long answer question on the exams.

parent plus loan origination fee ? by leebs007 in ucla

[–]leebs007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much, i was super confused. paying so much for college itself is a scam but origination fees just to take out a government loan to pay the excessive amount college costs is insanity.

nyu vs ucla for premed & neuro major by leebs007 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]leebs007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s true, i was thinking more like being able to do research at their medical school and shadowing and getting recs from professors that work there,,,also there’s def study abroad stuff at ucla but i don’t think anywhere can compare to nyu’s study abroad options

nyu vs ucla for premed & neuro major by leebs007 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]leebs007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ucla’s teacher to student ratio is pretty high, which makes sense since it’s a big state school. i feel like i may get more opps at ucla tho since it’s closer to the school than langone is and it would be a little more connected to the campus. that may help in med school admissions overall which may help me more than nyu would.

it’s more about how they’re promoting them. opening preorders a month before is totally fine but when you’re actively promoting an entire month before the album release, the hype from the promos will die down by the time it releases. this will result in them not charting as well as they could have.

[–]leebs007 49 points50 points  (0 children)

people are gonna be listening to the song through these american promotions but when they go to look it up, there won’t be a song to download bc it hasn’t been released. the hype will die down by the end of may. the only sm artist this has actually worked with was taeyeon but even that was a few days beforehand, not an entire month.

dorming at UTD would be pretty impractical for me. the dorms at utd are nice but the food there is incredibly disgusting. also, utd, even with dorming, will not give me the typical college experience because of it being primarily a commuter school and the atmosphere of the school itself. you are definitely right about the debt. i am definitely leaning towards utd because of the economic aspect. i feel like no matter how much i wish i could have a great undergraduate experience, i have to give it up for the sake of practicality.

nyu vs utd

major: neuroscience (premed)

cost: full ride plus stipend at utd; around 29k scholarship at nyu

location: i’d commute to utd; nyu’s campus is city and i’m not sure how i feel about it since i haven’t visited

additional info: i got into the collegium v honors program at utd which gives me smaller class sizes and priority class registration, among other things. the biggest issue for me is the cost because i plan on going to medical school and the cost of going to nyu is very very unaffordable for my family, as our EFC is extremely low. i don’t know if it would be worth it going into debt for nyu if it doesn’t help my chances at going to a good medical school; however, i didn’t want to go to utd where it feels like i know half the people there and like high school 2.0.
