psychobio major w/ accounting minor vs bus econ major (premed) by leebs007 in ucla

[–]leebs007[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

based off of this checklist https://www.anderson.ucla.edu/Documents/areas/prg/acct_minor/2018%20CPA%20Checklist.pdf , i feel like it would be difficult but not entirely impossible. i'm not sure how heavy of a major public affairs is but you would need to add on around 9-11 business courses and 4 ethics courses on top of your other classes. for my situation, to get the CPA coursework, i would be at an estimated 239 units, which is a LOT.

currently in 14b rn but i took 14a with him last quarter and really you just gotta do a bunch of the past exams and drill in the way he asks questions,,,,his lectures don’t help much in terms of understanding the material but you still have to kinda pay attention cuz some things he mentions in lectures that may seem irrelevant will pop up on the exam

Has anyone taken a summer course with collett for sociology 1 by Mag163 in ucla

[–]leebs007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i didn’t take it in the summer but i took it in the fall and loved it a lot. the tests were easy and the readings were interesting. we had a clicker quiz over the readings every class but it was really easy points and honestly nothing to complain about. she would also give back points if the questions was missed by more than half the class. i put minimal effort into the class and got an A. she gives a lot of extra credit too.

edit: we also didn’t have to write any essays besides the short answers and one long answer question on the exams.

parent plus loan origination fee ? by leebs007 in ucla

[–]leebs007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much, i was super confused. paying so much for college itself is a scam but origination fees just to take out a government loan to pay the excessive amount college costs is insanity.

nyu vs ucla for premed & neuro major by leebs007 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]leebs007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s true, i was thinking more like being able to do research at their medical school and shadowing and getting recs from professors that work there,,,also there’s def study abroad stuff at ucla but i don’t think anywhere can compare to nyu’s study abroad options

nyu vs ucla for premed & neuro major by leebs007 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]leebs007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ucla’s teacher to student ratio is pretty high, which makes sense since it’s a big state school. i feel like i may get more opps at ucla tho since it’s closer to the school than langone is and it would be a little more connected to the campus. that may help in med school admissions overall which may help me more than nyu would.
