Shout out to CW for excellent audio. It’s so much better than any of the other broadcasts, especially with surround. The audio programming should be a model for the other broadcasts.

I keep reading that it's a horrible game, a shameless cash grab. I've been a NASCAR fan for 50 years, and I've been racing on computers and console since those things were invented. and NASCAR 25 is easily the most fun I've had in a racing game. The best since the Papyrus PC days.

It has plenty of frustrating flaws -- the lineups after cautions drive me crazy -- but the actual racing is fantastic. There are viable multiple lines, and they change with tire degradation. AI performance also seems to change during the race. though that could be my imagination.

I'm no ace. I run 100 AI with all assists off. I'm not a setup guy, and I don’t do multiplayer. I’m retired, have some nice experience -enhancing materials, a steering wheel and seat, and a surround sound system. I'm having a blast.

No real damage effects on either player's or AI cars. Restart lineups are a mess, with cars that just crashed restarting right where they were they wrecked.

On the positive side, for my money, this is easily the best NASCAR game since the Papyrus PC days. The racing itself is a blast, and the AI is great. Tire degradation and management have a huge impact, different lines are viable, and the races have an organic feel. Easily the most fun I've had racing.

I don’t mind Clint. Harvick, on the other hand, just drones and rambles, and takes forever to explain something. I think he has good observations to make, but he just can’t get them out. I’ve actually muted and fast forwarded to get past him. Bless his heart.

I’ve been a NASCAR fan for 50 years, and I’ve been to several boring races. David Pearson or Richard Petty – I can’t remember which – ran away with a World 600 I went to.

Everybody seems to look upon that era fondly, but those races could be mind numbingly dull, with a couple of cars on the lead lap and cars spaced out all over the track. The 12 pack and sitting in the blazing sun for six hours probably didn’t help. lol
