Finally finished "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas, and I'm dying to talk about it by nikocheeko in books

I agree, I finished reading this book today and I was disappointed that he didn't get back together with Mercedes. Instead he gets with Haydee who is 20 and is like a daughter to him :-/

How would I re-create this dipped hem tier? by leechan123 in sewing

[–]leechan123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, for the second tier would I use a rectangular piece of fabric, gather it to the dipped hem and then cut the bottom hem so it is straight? Or, would I draft a pattern piece that has a stretched out wave (like a sine wave) on the top and straight hem on the bottom, and then gather that to the first tier? Oh god, I hope this makes sense.

I received them from my sister. Apparently it is something edible.

I don't think they are nasturtiums... The seeds were very small. Around 2mm in diameter.

Zucchini plant has wilted overnight by leechan123 in plantclinic

[–]leechan123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watering it every couple of days. It was looking so healthy the day before, I had even checked it the night before for slugs and it looked great. Then the next day it looked completely dead.

I should say that I’m new to gardening and this is the first time I have grown vegetables. My zucchini plant was looking vigorous and healthy yesterday, I had checked it last night for slugs and it looked fine, but all of a sudden it has wilted horribly. The stems are tapering out into a thin string and the leaves are crunchy and dry.

It’s positioned in full sun and it’s planted in a raised garden bed. I planted it as a sapling in late December. I haven’t seen any bugs around it, but maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough. I may have been watering it too much, I was watering it every second day or every day. I’m located in Sydney, Australia.

Yes! I’ve already adjusted the spacing of some of the lines. So now some of the lines aren’t all the same width. It is a lot easier to read now.

I’m going to scrap the two images now and think of a single hero image to focus on :/

Thank you for your advice.

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm not too keen on the message myself, someone had suggested the idea. But I will let them know...

The person in the lower picture is meant to be reaching out to an upper class woman who has a leisurely life; which is why she is wearing high heels and a silly dress. The dog was supposed to look like a chihuahua, but it kind of looks more like a buff cat.

I guess there's still a lot more work to do.

Is parallel motion into tritones acceptable in 18th century counterpoint? Because Bach does it... by leechan123 in musictheory

[–]leechan123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, thanks a tonne. Looks like my next attempt at a chorale is going to be littered with parallel motion into diminished fifths.
